Try making your own positions. It will be hard, at first, but it will help your art a lot. And waiting till you learn how is not going to work very well. Who's going to teach you, unless you know someone like Jay Matternes or Mark Witton. If you don't, the best way to learn the technique is to do it, though there are techniques that will help you.
