REAL NAME: Courtney Graham
TEAM AFFILIATION: New Pioneers
HISTORY: Courtney Graham was your typical "gifted student" as a child, excelling in reading, language, and the humanities. She devoured book after book, acted in school plays, and always did well in art class.
As she grew, she felt herself becoming mediocre. The things she was good at as a child never seemed to come in handy. She struggled with adult life. Adrift, Courtney hatched her plan to capture that gifted and special feeling again. She designed a superhero costume and identity, a set of powers, and sought out the criminal scientist The Geneticist to give her those powers.
Now she fights crime as Candlefly. However she is at the beck and call of the Geneticist, and in between good deeds she is running criminal errands for the mad scientist. Stealing supplies or money to enable his sick experiments.
While on one such errand Candlefly came into contact with the all-women superhero team New Pioneers. Thinking quickly, she claimed that she was investigating the break-in. Candlefly was welcomed as a member of the team, but she is constantly trying to hide her association with the Geneticist from them.
KNOWN SUPERHUMAN POWERS: Candlefly has the powers of flight through insect-like wings, bioluminescent skin, and superhuman strength, agility, senses, and reflexes.
