Description
This was my favorite of the troll paintings. In retrospect, it was probably a good thing that I didn't get that toy design job I applied for just out of college...The influence of all those kid book illos I've been working on for the past few weeks is obviously creeping out all over.

Now the question is, how did the kid get the balloon in the first place? Was it the cheapest one he could buy, or did it just float over to him?

You accomplished detailed results nicely here. I especially like how it's hard to determine whether than expression on the balloon is a grin, a smile, or a devious look.

Ha ha ha, this is so cool. I love the expression on the balloon, those monster-like expressions are so much fun to draw and paint. So funny!
The part that sticks out to me the most about this painting is the perfect colors, they are just right, especially against the bright colors of the little boy, for the type of mood and troll like that would be in.....so creepy.....
All the features of the troll's face impress me a lot.. The nose is so good with the huge nostrils, and the horrific shape of it! The teeth and lips are exceptional, the way the lips are so fat in some places and skinnier in others. The two teeth that stick out are awesome, too, and the shading under the lips changes to the bright part of the middle of the teeth quite well. The eye color is really really REALLY cool! So calm, and yet so ferocious! And the horns are so good, with their perfect shading and detail. I especially like the excess hanging off the bottom of the balloon. It almost makes the picture. Haha, awesome job.
So, is there anything you can't do? I'd sure be surprised if there was! I love your art, this one especially. And it's going to be one of my favorites (for my gallery, that is, it already is a favorite of mine
