Having read a couple of books lately that for some reason featured the obscure mythical grindylow--as generic water imp in "Harry Potter", and as demonic extra-dimensional mermen, in China Mieville's brilliant "The Scar"--I decided to do my own versions, which came out as kind've anthro-viperfish. Heya! I absolutely love your take on grindilows... and man, wasn't the scar awesome? Love the colors, and the shape of the heads (and teeth), as well as the general fishiness.

remind me of the celocanth..(sp?)..the fish that was thought to be extinct but was rediscovered in the early 1900's...great work!...have spent the last 2 hours looking through your gallery...is now 3:18 am....i must go to sleep and continue to look at you fantastic work later..

they remind me of those little mermaids people over in hawaii and such would make from the bones of fish an animals and then travellers would come and assume they were real mermaids. Hurrah for tourism!

swam through the sea
She chased down the fishes

Really immaculate detail. I love the tiny fish skull on the tip of the staff, the wai it looks at the botom grindylow. Also, the patch of texture on the lower figure's torso is a nice touch.
