Thank you! I really put a lot of effort into trying to create a rich environment. I definitely need to get back into these more full world/place kind of images. It takes a lot of time though which is always hard to come by these days XD

Yeah, I do agree, finding the time to do things you like (in a thorough manner) is becoming more and more difficult nowadays. For an oblivious viewer like myself, atmospheric scenes like this are definitely the most enjoyable ones. Thank you for putting that much effort into your work, it does enable people like myself to immerse ourselves in the creations and find solace from the hectic everyday life.

The shading and lighting is very well done man. The slight gradients you're using on skin tone also is pretty nice, gives it that contrast away from what I consider the typical anime style, and brings it closer to a more unique style of your own, which in itself is refreshing and nice.
Something about seeing people, drawings or otherwise, makes me want to figure out what their ethnicity is. I think it might just be how I work, but this one is confusing me a bit. The very light blond hair would suggest Sweden or Finland, yet the eyes seem to make me think of West Asians, especially since they're at that slight tilt (I myself have eyes like that).
In terms of clothing, that hat actually made me laugh. My Lithuanian friend has one of those caps, and one time on YouTube we found a cultural folk dance from Lithuania where every male was wearing that hat, so I officially have decided that it's a Lithuanian national hat, kinda like the Arab headdress. So in terms of her ethnicity, I'd say close to the Balkans, possibly even Estonian.
Going back to something more significant about your art, the way you did the clothes I found pretty great, especially the detail and effort you put into the folds, it gives it that realistic sense. Furthermore, the background I also like since you had a focus work going there, with the background being blurred.
Very good job all together man. Keep up the good work!

How do you design such wonderful background pieces? With me, I just can't seem to let it blend because I use outlines...

She looks like she's in a Border's Seattle's Best CafΓ©. Not to say that I worked at one too long.
Once again, you amaze me with the little details.
Can I bother you to send me one to my e-mail that would fit as my wallpaper? XD

You know, I sound pretty redundant with my comments, because I really don't know how to express how much I love your works. Your backgrounds especially! So please always know that your work always makes my eyes do this:

Do I approve? Stupid question...
Wow man, seriously, I'm speechless. The whole thing's absolutely perfect; from Jesse's style to the design of the cafe, the works. I particularly love the tweed detail in her flat cap and the bag... man that bag, it may well become a permanent feature (hope you don't mind if it does).
Now remind me again why you haven't got your own architecture firm running? Because the design of the cafe interior is just epic. The tiled rear wall is a sweet authentic touch and... argh, what's the name of that style of construction you've used for the counter front? Tip of my tongue but I can't remember! The way the cascade countertop extends into the bench by the window and sort of divides the space... as I said: epic. Industrial sized espresso machine is always good too Couches are really cool too.
Seriously, I could ramble on and on... totally blown away.
Bed late, up early? What's this early thing? I just cram it all into "uber late". And speaking of "late" back to reading "Experimental Investigation of Flow-Induced Microvoids During Impregnation of Unidirectional Stitched Fiberglass Mat." Riviting shit I can tell you
Oh, and the little "imperfections" (empty latte on the benchtop etc. ) add nicely to making the whole scene believable, as it were. Seriously, awesome... I owe you a massive one.

Ahh, well Iβm really glad you like it! I tried to stay true to her as best I could, so Iβm very happy to hear I was successful on that Heh, and the bag, itβs a bit of an amalgamation of a number of bags I have been looking at recently in my own search for a new mini messenger bag of sorts. You are more than welcome to use the design if you like!
I actually donβt know what that type of wood is called eitherβ¦ I saw that material used in a coffee shop here in SF and I just had to incorporate that element into my own little dream cafe here.
*sigh*, if only I was some well known and established architect who could pick and choose projects and be given free un questioned reign over design choices⦠well, that is the dream all us designer types work towards! One day may we both achieve it
Haha, yes, the uber late really is my preferred schedule too. But alas, work schedule demands the up early part, at least during the week!
Anyway, once again, Iβm happy you like the image! I had a blast drawing it
