A bunch of my friends and myself are having our own "pirate princess party" for Halloween this year. Each of us has chosen our favorite Disney Princess and we are creating a pirate costume as though she ran away from her story in favor of a life of adventure on the high seas. I put this together for a visual of the outfit I'm currently constructing.

For my concept, I decided to go with Belle's gold dress as it is the most iconic, and I "borrowed" some elements from Beast's closet to help her on her way. It sort of already looks like it could have a corset and off the shoulder is perfect for a pirate look, so it's mostly just a question of gathering up the skirt like that to give the impression of her dress but enough movement to sword fight in. I'll be adding some belts and other odds and ends. Roses are of course her big icon, and there will be some other details added to the final costume that I will share with the pics of the real version.

The background was done quickly for fun, and all is hand drawn then scanned and colored except the very back- the sky is a Windows 7 wallpaper, not mine. I might replace it with one of my own later but I decided the time was better spent working out the details of the outfit.
