I'm not keen on it, but nonetheless, I look forward to seeing your version!

What's so terrible about a woman as the Doctor? Surely you're not afraid of a strong woman, are you? And it's not like they cast an American in the role, she's still British.

I admit I'm a bit apprehensive about a female Doctor, but that's because I'm worried about how the BBC will handle it, not the actual lead herself. Quite to the contrary, I very much like a strong female lead (with Jessica Jones and Agent Carter in my opinion being two of the best superhero shows I've seen so far). But just because Whittaker is a woman, doesn't mean she's the RIGHT woman. Someone like Eva Green, Hayley Atwell, they'd be closer to my choice of female Doctor, I'm not convinced Whittaker's got the presence to be a good Doctor. I could be wrong, I've been wrong about the past two Doctors (I thought Capaldi would be too boring and he turned out to be my favourite Doctor, and I thought Matt Smith was going to be a godsend whilst as it turned out I wasn't a fan of his at all). Of course, I'm willing to give Whittaker and the show's new direction a chance, but from the information, casting and designs released so far, I'm very worried about the show.
Also, an American would be okay, but only if they could do a convincing British accent

I'll be honest, I'd have liked to see Dame Helen Mirren in the role; I don't know much about Jodie Whittaker's previous work.

I don't really see Mirren working either to be honest, too big a name, seems too safe and just doesn't seem Doctory.
I'm not that knowledgeable, but seeing her in clips and interviews, she seems miscast to me, but time will tell.

Thanks, I'm looking forward to seeing whether I can salvage this costume myself!

Personally I kinda like it. Has a sort of "timeless because nobody ever dressed quite like this" feel to me- not as utterly implausible and over-the-top as Colin Baker's attire, but still just that little bit off. "Perfectly mismatched", to quote Animaniacs. A sort of retro feel, except you can't pin down the decade- in other words, it was probably quite fashionable in the Third Doctor's day. The overall effect kind of reminds me of Tom Baker's and Patrick Troughton's looks- though the stripe, more than anything, makes me think of Steven's getup in the set photos of "Celestial Toymaker".

I'd say it's a weird mismatch of the 70s and 80s for the most part, I mean I guess the fact already going with a dated costume COULD make that in itself timeless but eh...even at the time people surely would have found this garish, right?
At least with Colin Baker's outfit the actual "template" was quite standard, I.E Victorian frock coat, waistcoat etc, it's just the fact it's got ridiculous colours on it. I mean this could grow on me, but it'll take a lot of time if it does. I'm used to slicker and more dapper appearances from the previous two Doctors (and I guess Tennant was quite smart too).

I'd like to see what you have in mind for a 13th Doctor outfit.

Well my main thoughts would be...something more coordinated, and better fitting. I'll try and make some designs shortly!
