• Neptune was named after the Roman god of the sea, hence Neptune's association with the ocean/water.

• The planet Neptune is the ruler of Michiru's astrological sign, Pisces.

• In 1998, a canadian toy company called Irwin released a line of "Senshi of the Outer Solar System" dolls well before Sailor Moon S' airing in North America, and Michiru was given the name "Nerissa"

• Michiru owns her own helicopter that she calls "Kaioumaru"

• As said in Haruka's trivia, in the first English dub of the anime, Michiru and Haruka were changed from being lovers to cousins. They made this change only to the dialogue and nothing was changed in the animation, making them come off as incestuous.

• Sailor Neptune appears to be the only Senshi to awaken her powers without the help of the moon cats or involvement of other Senshi. According to her prologue in the Sailor Moon Sailor Stars season of the anime, her memory awoke in the form of dreams...
