My name is Jasper. I am a vampire...an old one at that. I am stupid too. I'm 2666 years old and I still am sitting here in my room trying to drink myself away. Bacardi, Vodka, Rum, Whiskey, anything I can find I'll drink. I'm pretty sure everyone here in the AHO is angry at me for acting so childish. I don't blame them....I'm acting like a baby. All because I fell in love with someone who is in love with someone else.
Bang! Bang! Bang! “Jasper Aro get your ass out of that room and go get some air,” came Lady's furious voice. She had been trying to make me leave for ages now. I groaned and at that she was in my room, grabbed me by the collar of my shirt and dragged me outside where she threw me onto the sidewalk with my trumpet. “Go do something with your drunk ass!” I looked back as she slammed the front door and I heard the click of the lock. I groaned and I stood dusting myself off. At that I picked up my trumpet case and started my long walk down the sidewalk to no where in particular. “Might as well make some money while out here.” I continued my long walk for about an hour until I got to the main city where I stopped in front of a cafe where I started to unpack my trumpet and now slowly lifted it to my mouth. People already started gathering as I began to play.
AT first I was just playing songs that people would recognize. But then somehow it switched to that song. The song I had wrote after she had left with him. It was slow, and at most creepy. But in a way...it showed love. I continued to play for a long while until I heard someone call my name. “Jasper?” I stopped and looked to my left. Seeing her. Pain instantly filling my beat less heart. “Putride.” She approached me pushing a little stroller with a white haired boy in it. Probably no older then 3 or 4. I looked at him and he frowned and pointed at me. Putride looked at him and frowned lightly. “Don't point Singvogel...its rude.” He didn't listen and now looked me in the eyes. “pain.....momma....pain.” I frowned even more and at those three little words he spoke...i felt my soul crunch under the foot of God. She looked at me and smiled weakly. “Sorry. He can see the past of others....its quite a gift.”
I looked at him and bent down to his eye level. “Hello Singvogel.” He smiled and giggled lightly like any carefree child would. I smiled lightly and stood back up and now looked at Putride. “So you and Victor had a child?” It was obvious but I still asked it. Probably because I was a little buzzed. She nodded. “yeah....a couple years after we got married.” I looked at her left hand and saw the ring. It was small but nice. 'Now....I'll never be with here...,' I thought as I looked at her. I signed and packed my trumpet away taking the money that was tossed in my case out and shoving it into my pocket of my jeans. After packing I took out a black flask from my jacket and took a drink. She watched and spoke lightly. “you're still drinking Jasper?” I nodded and spoke lightly. “i need to be going.” She grabbed me by the sleeve of my jacket and spoke in that way that would make anyone listen. “Don't go yet. We have so much to catch up on.” I signed and nodded following her to a bench where Singvogel got onto her lap and smiled at me. I smiled back and she spoke lightly. “I've missed you jasper.” I looked at her and signed. “I've missed you too....”
We continued to talk that day and that night was when Putride and em first got to make love in that Red Room, that I will never forget. Of course. I could never stop thinking about that day after it. Singvogel, he has grown up and has become a man and his father would have been proud of him. He was so carefree then, and now he has nightmares all the time. Putride is dead now....along with Victor. He has no parents but me now. I am his stepfather even if he had never really excepted it. I promised I would take care of our children. Cain, Abel, Singvogel. I love them all. Even now I look at Singvogel as more then a son.....more like a gift who let me see Putride that day. After years and years of drinking myself away.
