Description
These birds love to feed on the nectar bearing plants around our garden."Lories and lorikeets (tribe Loriini) are small to medium-sized arboreal parrots characterized by their specialized brush-tipped tongues for feeding on nectar of various blossoms and soft fruits, preferably berries. The species form a monophyletic group within the parrot family Psittacidae."

We are lucky to live on a tropical island in the north of australia. We are originally from the cold north east of england so love it here

Oh wow, yes, that is like being in two different worlds. I'm in Kentucky and it is still quite cold. However, I lived in many places within the U.S. and prefer the warmer climates myself.

Your equipment was not listed, so I figured you made a great shot with the focus over the distance. Most shots are blurry after 10inches(4cm) from the subject.

It was taken with a Panasonic Lumix FZ200. Probably from around 12 tom15 feet, but with a bit of a zoom. They were in trees in our garden.
