Description For the second assignment in the encaustics painting class I'm in, the theme was "representational." So I did a portrait of my dog Jake, or Jacob. I chose to do a portrait of him because I did a portrait of my precious Spook, and I figured it was about time I did one for Jacob. It turned out ok. After the critique in class and now knowing my peers opinions on what I should fix, I do see things that I need to work on. Like the orange color on the ear, when it should be a bit more yellow. My teacher wanted me to weaken the line on Jake's forehead, but that line is always like that on him.

Materials: Encaustikos Encaustic Paints, Beeswax, Oil Paint, on 10in by 10in EncausticBord by Ampersand. But its not 10 by 10 now, because I scanned this and the scanner surface/glass was not big enough.
