please check my gallery, I have the same type of photo [link] , taken with Nikon D90, 50mm 1.8. I don`t know why this group declined it. The main difference is that my seaguls were moving a lot, asking for food from us.

I am not sure which group you mean. Anyway, your shot is very well done.
The overall focus and foreground sharpness is perfect, the back might be a little to sharp. For the future I suggest using the full power of your 1.8 lens there
The colors are strong, but natural (it seems a little to strong on the feet of the second gull, was the picture edited?).
One thing that really bugs me about it, is that the foreground gull is not completely centered, which makes the photo seem a little shifted to the left.
This is easy to correct by just cutting a little of right border. (but it may be just me who is bothered by that)
Looking at your gallery, you have a lot of awesome pictures there. I think this one in particular does not completely show what you are able to do.

It was the Nikon photography group, but it doesn`t matter after all. Thank you so much for your honest opinion I apreciated so much! I will try to use 1.8, next time to see the result, I `ve never tried it before. I edited a bit,it is true.

Ok, don't tell anyone until the time has come. I am training the to hunt for douchebags and it is going very well! The ones on the picture are my recruiting team on the final briefing for their way to the north sea.

An absolutely PERFECT depiction of these birds in my opinion- as much as they're a menace, I admire just how well they work together and how organized they are. Also an amazing shot in general- how often do you see a perfect rank of seagulls THAT close!?
