Description One of the models Ive been searching all over for, an Entex 1/16th scale Ford model T. These things are packed with detail just out of the box, they even come with metal, and wood parts, along with wires for the engine.

H'ere's a few other pics of it: [link]

I wanted to go eith the Coca Cola Decals it came with, but after some research I found out they were period correct. I wanted decals on it that everybody could reconize so I went with the Texaco decals, but they didnt have one of the actual logo. I was luck enough to find a pic of a 1913 Texaco logo and make that into a decal which I put 2 on each side, and 2 smaller ones on both rear doors.

I also added some more wood pannels to the interior, in addtion to the wood parts that came in the kit, like inside the cowl :[link] under the seat, and on the rear doors. Other than that I pretty much left everything alone, and thought everything was detailed enough.
This is going into a model contest this weekend, and I bought a nice mirrored base to place under it to show off all the chassis detail :[link]

This is nice. . .This is one of those builds that when you get down, you pour yourself a nice drink, and gaze at its beauty for a while. . .

As for the contest- Its in the bag!!!

Thanks! It was well worth the $80 I plaid for it! lol Indeed, I have it at the front of the living room infront of where I normally sit on the couch I really need a case for it, Im so friggin paranoid of dust getting on it..:/

I think one of the large aircraft cases Hobby Lobby sells would hold it, Ive bought a few of those just so i can fit 3 or 4 24th scale cars in them.

Thanks dude! Yeh painting anything white or a light color is always a nightmare for me! lol

You said it. White (and red) are problem colors for me too. And gundams take up a lot of white argh.

vash68 In reply to raipo [2011-05-19 21:45:17 +0000 UTC]

Yeh I have trouble with reds too, alot of the engines I paint are red and it takes several coats to cover everything nicely, especially if the engine is molded in black! lol

raipo In reply to vash68 [2011-05-20 11:11:42 +0000 UTC]

uhuh. If the undercoat is too black, the red tends to go brown. When the Undercoat is grey, it usually turns orangey. Worse is when the undercoat is white, red tends to go pink. Argh. I had nightmares about this.

Indeed I did! I love these bigger models, it way too easy to add more detail, but of cousre the only downside is the size and how much space they take up...

That jjust means when you get a garage of your own you'll have to display them in your shop!

I plan too! I just need to find a cheap, glass display counter, like what you'd find in a jewelry store or something

Thanks! Still hoping when I go I'll find that Entex stakebed again, this is the exact show I went to where I saw it. When I see it I'll buy it and nothing else, since that'll be most of the money I'll have there....
I didnt realize how much of a deal that sakebed was till i looked on ebay lol

Didnt find a stakebed like I wanted...I'll post a journal about the contest soon. But I did find an Acadamy 1928 Lincoln for $20! Ive seen them go for twice that, even more sometimes, so I had to have it! lol Also bought smething ive never built before...a Civil War confederate sub resin kit! lol When were in Tennesee, we see all kinds of civil war things in antique stores, and visit quite a few Civil war battlefields..I thought it was time Id build something Civil war related, it was a cheap too

Sounds almost as good as the stakebed... I got a diecast 1941 Plymouth pickup at a swap meet today, and got pics of some parts, old signs and cars there. There was a brass-era Cartercar phaeton, Hupmobile sedan and Model TT Ford pickup that you'd have liked, got pics of all three.

Yeh I think its just a repackaged entext kit since I know entex made a 28 Lincoln just like it with opeing doors too.

Cant wait to see the pics, and the dicast!

Pics of the diecast are coming up soon (maybe tonight), and a photo of the Model TT is already up.

And did you notice that I got a gift subscription from another deviantARTist?

Cool, they almost look like the matchbox ones, but matchbox is way more detailed.

prorider In reply to vash68 [2011-05-20 16:49:07 +0000 UTC]

matchbox is smaller
Its like a cheap lledo

Golden Wheel. Not great quality, and like a cheap Lledo, as you said.

I have a couple of their 1/24 1940 Ford trucks in storage, they have miserable quality & detail, one has the seat rattling around inside and has been that way since I bought it 10 years ago...

Very nice work. Very clean build too. Do any of the doors open ? From what we see in the pics , The kit does look to have lots of detail items.
