My first "skin" concept art/attempt for Shyvana, a League of Legends champion. The "ice" or "frosted" skin for Shyvana has become quite popular, so I wanted to create my own version of it. Honestly, the idea of an ice dragon definitely works for her

There needs to be a new Syndra skin I feel. I dislike the fact that her only other skin makes her a Holy Justicar. Like.. no, that's not Syndra at all 
She's evil and wants to kill people, it's why she's so likable!
That being said, this is pretty great!

True, champions that have released with only one skin should eventually receive a new skin; Syndra, especially! Even a silly skin related to Dodgeball

Can you do a tutorial please. What settings do you use and how do you know where the lighting goes? GAH TOO GOOD! I've been trying to reach someone who can draw well on photohsop but no one really helps. They just say practice. I know that but there are certain things I need to know like how to set up the canvas and use certain brushes and know what layer effects do what. if you have any suggestions or tips/technique and tricks that amp your work can you please share them with me, I'd much appreciate it! ^.^

Hi! It can be frustrating since "practice" is the word thrown around the most. And believe me, I've used that word as well. It's tough since each artist's approach can be very different. I have two tutorials so far [link] and I plan on making some more in the future. As for some basics, which version of Photoshop do you plan on using? I can step through some things if you need help on the setup and basic outline/steps to creating an image.

I use CS5 and I have a wacom tablet and pen. I'm familiar with using the brushes and how to blend colors and things, but I've been analyzing really good art recently on league like the eternum nocturn art, vlad redesign, etc. Those are so dynamic on a whole new level. I'm just so confused how the artist drew those so perfectly without any flaws. The colors and lighting are perfect. He makes glow and texture effects that i can't begin imagining to create manually with just a brush. But yea, your tutorial on coloring is much different than how I do it but seems to get a much cleaner look. I just make layers and color with a brush. nothing fancy. Thank you though!!

No problem! My approach is different, that's true. It's a fairly old tutoral though, so as of now, I've been combining a variety brushes to create some depth along with the burn/dodge tool.
For textures, layering and using the layer properties (I've been using some Overlay, but try experimenting with the others to see what results they yield) can help. Then, blur/blend the textures and recolor/darken/brighten the layers (with color balance or the color replacement tool) to match the base colors you have underneath. And changing the opacity; that's another very useful tool. Layer after layer I guess, just try out new things!
And yes, looking at others' works is always a great way to learn and improve. For my LoL contest entry, I definitely had to take a look at the Vlad art.

No problem!! I'm jellous, to be honest!! But, I'm working to get better!! Hehe, I've been drawing for about a year, and I think I have improved, but I'm not so sure!! Wow!! 6 years?? Thats so cool!! Yeah, I've been "drawing" my whole life, too. If by drawing, you mean crappy doodles in the margin of my homework haha!!!!!
