Based on Sukunami's AU fic For Nothing, For Everything. And I couldn't be arsed to fact check what her Squall looked like (or if he even had that trademark scar) soooooo yeah.Though I do remember the staff was dark red with runes on it. Thought it might be sort of neato if the staff was a bit organic looking. *squints* I suppose for design purposes I have this universe pegged as being somewhat medieval, though I'm quite sure I hadn't thought it that far back when I first read it ...

you have a pretty awsome comand of lighting; there's something incredibly soft about that which is emitting from the head of the staff what witht he small contrast between the areas of light and dark. this adds a far mellower mood to the pice which is countered by that hard stare squall's looking out from the picture with. i find that the minial stroks of whit eon the fur lining of cloak also aid with creating the look of this peice and io dig the hazy effect going on at the head of the rod.
the rod itself has been rendered with a mind blowing amount of detail. te way it's twisted and coiled with these arcing shapse gives it a looks of prestige. that combined with the more magical featurss such as the un-attacted sphears hovering close to the top make it all the more.
