Perhaps it worked so seamlessly with his vision that he didn't notice. And he never facepalmed.
What I find even harder to believe is how he didn't realize his hair was that long. My hair is that long and all it takes for it to enter my field of vision is to look downwards.

He does put his hand to his face when he first wakes up in the ova though. Wouldn't his voice also sounded different having aged to 66 yrs old.
Well whatever the case it was an awesome twist.
