A large penguin-like creature that is the self-proclaimed king of Dream Land. However, he's just a big bully, picking on children and stealing food, which is very unbecoming of a king. He once stole the Star Rod, but Kirby took it back. Since then, he has sought out ways to oust him, like developing his own inhaling skill. All that being said, Dedede isn't really a bad guy, as he and Kirby have had friendly eating competitions on occasion.

I really love Smash Bros Dedede. Also enjoy that Sakurai is his VA (even though I prefer Ted Lewis despite making him sound like Foghorn Leghorn). Too bad Bandana Dee ain't a fighter even though I never really cared for its inclusion.

Ah. I've first played Kirby's Dream Land 2 for the Game Boy, then Super Smash Bros and Kirby 64. That's when I familiarized myself with him.

I also enjoyed the anime series, and thought 4Kids did an all right job distributing it. King Dedede was pretty dang funny, and Kirby's Copy Ability animations were cool. Plus, there were hardly any scenes that needed to be removed from the English version...except for one where Kirby accidentally goes haywire with a sub-machine gun. Go find it on YouTube, I swear I'm not making it up.
