Description This is my design for Scorpio. The center of this design features a ruby stone surrounded by layers of black, red, and gold weaves and filigree leaves and vines. The alchemical symbol for water, the symbol for Scorpio, and the Scorpio constellation are all featured in the different layers. I had originally intended to use the outer layer of this design for Aries, but once I had the basic lines in place, the area between the two dotted ridges really reminded me of overlapping scales, which seemed much more appropriate for this sign.

Because of some of the things I've done recently to try to streamline the process for these designs, this probably only took me 3 1/2 to 4 days to complete.

Thank you. I'm pleased you like the finished result.

Yeah, doing the research for that series really introduced me to a number of things that I wasn't aware of before I set out to complete the images. I'm glad you enjoyed the new information.

Ah I like how you incorporated the Scorpio sign and how it continues throughout the red designs all around

As always, your attention to detail in the design is impressive. I just love this series and can't wait 'til they're all done. I feel a journal feature coming on.

Thank you. Hopefully the last 5 will only take me about a week apiece, so maybe 6-7 weeks to finish it all (with a bit of time added for general holiday business). I would be honored if you decided to feature them.

Thank you, as always, for the fav. It is greatly appreciated.

That's really cool. I noticed the 'm' shaped zodiac symbol, plus the constellation added there . Would've (might've) been better if you also made the gem in the centre a rosey pink for the birthstone of November ; ) but still, I like it.

I'm glad you like it.

When I first started on the set, I did a little bit of research on what gemstones and semi-precious stones are generally associated with each sign, and went through choosing which ones to use based on how well I felt I could make it look (for instance I discarded diamond as an option because I didn't think I could really get something that looked like more than a white and gray mass), what color was often associated with the sign, and based on what stones were associated with other signs so there wouldn't be any repeats. Ruby ended up being the choice for Scorpio in part because red is a color often associated with the sign, and it was listed in a couple of places as a stone for the sign.

kool, and I realized to that I made a mistake. The birthstone for November is more of an amber colour. but hey, at least you chose red for a good reason, instead of making it somewhat random

Yeah, I tried to make the colors and gems a bit meaningful, even if I also just wanted to make it pretty.
