Description Here is the finished version of Taurus. The center of this design features an emerald stone surrounded by layers of brown, green, and gold weaves and filigree leaves and vines. The alchemical symbol for earth, the symbol for Taurus, and the Taurus constellation are all featured in the different layers.

Though I had a number of things already in place when I began to work on this piece seriously, it probably took me a week to finish it.

Aries is in the works.

This is very beautiful, and I wouldn't so much call it abstract, for it is decorative in the sense of William Morris. That is an incredibly good thing, and your work looks like something that would grace the pages of an ancient manuscript or a wonderful book. They are very well done, and I work in Adobe Illustrator doing Vector art, so I know you put a great deal of time and effort into all of these wonderful images. Thank you for sharing...Sincerely ...Annie

Thank you so much for the comment! With this series especially, I was trying for a more ornate feel, and the comparison to William Morris's work (from what I saw through a quick search) is quite the compliment. I'm so glad you enjoyed the piece. Again, thank you.

Gorgeous! Love the classic, rich colors and fine - striking - detail. Just wonderful. I need to go back through your gallery to see which ones of these I've missed.

I'm glad you like the color combination. I'm trying to keep a classic/ornamental feel with each of these designs. I hope you enjoy the rest.

Very strong & effectively elegant.
What program did you use to create it?

Thank you.

I used Flash 8 to create it.

How interesting! I've only ever used Flash for animations, so I learn something every day.
It certainly made a great result.

Yeah, I've used it for both, though primarily for art of some sort (comics or mandalas). Though I haven't specifically used them, there are some things you can do in Illustrator and other vector programs that you aren't really going to achieve without a huge amount of skill, if you can at all, in Flash. Still it's great for a variety of things.
