Description Multipurpose support robot, designed mostly for urban warfare. Moves in front of the infantry, detects and disarms IED's. Equipped with two heavy flamethrowers.

Can be modified to provide medical assistance on the battlefield.

Movement: A pair of thrusters is build into rotating cylinder (reactor inside) to hoover above ground, second pair of thrusters are located in the back.
Main manipulators are used to stabilize the movement. Can jump up to 5 meters, but not so often - short overcharge bursts.

Fancy!

>_>

Wonder if you have a Personal Assistant version, or one for helping The Kids!

An awesome design,I especially like the shaping of that "face"-section with those little illuminting things aligned to it.Are those meant to be optical sensors? That guyยดs quite huge for a bomb droid, does that tail section serve as another manipulator for the finer stuff?Otherwise Iยดd think those secondaries would appear a little too big for handling little wires and stuff while disarming mines and stuff..

nice concept. did you use 3d at all for this for blocking out?

No I didn't, just a line drawing first and then painting

Wow! This is really nice concept1 Are you going to model it in 3d?

vianreps In reply to jomet [2011-09-03 12:04:02 +0000 UTC]

I will stick with 2d for now, want to get a concept art job, but I might do a few 3D models from my designs in the future

Shadowleaper [2011-09-03 07:12:26 +0000 UTC]

That's a beautiful design but I'm worried it has no centre of weight, maybe the tail is just REALLY strong, or those thrusters I see are functional

will add a few animation sketches to explain this thing Tail is just a handling tool, like this one [link]

Beautifully rendered!

But I have some practical concerns....
how does this robot stand on the ground when the thrusters are not operating?
Does it have capabilities when the thrusters are not working (can it walk?)

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

vianreps In reply to Volcannah [2011-09-03 11:48:21 +0000 UTC]

yeah sorry, did not explain it properly - thrusters are permanently on. Hands are on the ground level, and they do assist the movement.

Dude, this is is awesome! I wish I could do stuff like this but I'm inexperienced with most computer things. I kind of know how to use Rhinoceros but that's limited to somethings.

What program did you use to make this?

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 2

vianreps In reply to DracoHearte [2011-09-03 03:35:51 +0000 UTC]

but if i were to make a 3d model of it or something similar - i would use 3D Max, it's perfect for hard surface modelling, also - free for students

vianreps In reply to Xander312 [2011-09-02 22:00:33 +0000 UTC]

yeah, spent +/- 4 days working on it - so remember every problematic area

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

Xander312 In reply to vianreps [2011-09-02 22:11:10 +0000 UTC]

I have the same problem almost every time. After having worked on something for a week or so you can see every tiny little flaw or imperfection that most won't notice. If I look at it a few days later and, with some feedback to go with it, I generally find it growing on me. It's annoying, but I think that's just how it is. ^^
