Description I've always drawn my characters with a black outline. Now I wanted to see how it would be to paint them instead, so I drew this in Photoshop.

At the bottom edge you can see how the brushes looked -- marker-like, but the combined effect was something like an oil-painting, I think.

Glad you think so. I'm uploading these for you people to enjoy, and for you to tell me so.

And of course to tell me how I can improve.

Great bit of artwork and nifty charactor and the colouring technique is quite impressive

The coloring technique was an experiment, and judging by the response it seems worthwhile to continue!

Heheheheh, nice use of the brushes. Has a really awesome texture to it. Awesome job on this pseudo-painting.

*low whistle*

You know, when I see your name on the list of updated artwork, I rush to click it.

This was NO dissapointment.

The technique is incredible! I think Photoshop has a new level of respect from me.

Thanks Ian! That's the nicest thing you've ever said to me...at least that I can recall.

You really can do a lot of unexpected things with Photoshop. I got this particular notion when I watched a friend paint with it on my computer -- she's rather skilled.

That looks like it's some kind of watercolour.
Not digital at all.
It's rather wonderful. Great job.

"Watercolour", are you sure? Let me tell you, at least *my* watercolours don't look like this.

Anyway, thanks!

i like this, especially the loose energy of the 'brushstrokes' as it where.

Thanks! "Loose energy" doesn't *sound* good, but maybe it is.

Thanks John! Yes, it's always cool when you can get a digitally created image to look analogue.
