Description Estemmenosuchus miribilis is a mammal ancestor from Russia notable for its horned head. Whether or not it had a glowing red nose is speculative!Β

Β Then I say: It's a VERY interesting speculation indeed!Β  Β The idea of bright colors on an estemmenosuchus sounds like a possible idea. They definitely look good on it's cheek bones (Β or whatever they're really called).

Β If they didn't then this image makes me think that they SHOULD have (excellent work on the telling details in this particular piece, by the way; I'm especially fond of that rather snuggle-toothed smile and the saggy jowls).Β

I've never seen an Estemmenosuchus with proto-fur! Great jobπŸ‘.

It's probably a bit of a stretch, but this is on the cartoony side

It's official - this is my favourite Estemmenosuchus reconstruction!!Β You've made it not only adorable (heheh, prehistoric Rudolph xD), but also believable - like a real animal (most other reconstructions give it a "skull face" look and it looks like an alien being).

Aw, thanks! I've seen a couple of people give it a fleshy, hippo-like face, and it just looks a million times more natural.

Imagine trying to make this species as a line of christmas cards- with him leading santa's sleigh instead of rudolph the red-nosed reindeer. Β

Wow!Β  I'm so glad I found you and your art.Β  You have shown me more different prehistoric animals than I've ever seen anywhere else.Β  I look forward to each and every update you post.

BTW, I find this animals name interesting.Β  It's an ancestor of mammals but its name means some kind of crocodile.Β  Curious.

Ha, I merely comment on awesomeness when I see it - and I certainly just did.
Maybe I would actually like Santa if his sleigh was pulled by THESE!
(and of course, like the current interpretation with reindeer, they'd have to leave a magical sparkly trail in the sky behind them. And children would leave out chunks of meat for them instead of carrots... )
