Description Acrylic on paper (A2)

This was a school assignment where we had to place a nude we drew earlier this year in a landscape or a room, using one of the art styles we have learned about in modern art history this year. Obviously, I chose surrealism. Apart from the nude, all the things came to me randomly with no planning or thinking.
I spent 8-10 hours, painting spontaneously over and over without caring about details. Acrylics were very hard to use on paper, and I think I would have done this much better and more detailed on a canvas.

I really like your surreal work as well as your hyper-real work. This is very Dali-esque, and I like it very much. I've always admired surrealist artists. It looks great!

Being a school assignment, you may not come back to this (I don't usually go back to my own). But in the case that you do, observe shadows from that arch on the poles, the figure and the reflections that would occur over the glass. Also to give better depth to the idea that the figure is sitting on glass supported only by the arch (if I'm reading the painting correctly), consider including her shadow on the ground under the glass. I like your technique of adding things without previous planning. True surrealist idea. They often did such in groups. I hope when I take painting class, we will do such interesting assignments with many requirements.

Actually the glass plate that the nude sits on is closer to us, and is not in the shadow of the arch, but thanks But I see now that I should have made her shadow on the ground...

I love surrealism, even if it isn't my favorite style of painting, I can't look at a surreal painting without smiling. Smiling at others abilities not to let the world tell them what is truly real and what is. The ability to let the mind wander without worries about what makes sense. Keep it up!
