Description
I took a break from sketching Alexandra Palace by sketching this gnarled old tree. Trees are so much more fun to sketch than buildings!I think it might have been a weeping birch. The trunk was so convoluted it was hard to tell but the leaves were similar. It could have been a Patagonian monocle tree for all I know, though. It's not like monocles are in season in July.

You know, trees don't care about perspective.. At all.
Buildings, you get the perspective wrong and you just drew a building that can't stand on "it's own two feet".

That is very true! Also if you forget to draw a branch or two or move some branches around nobody's going to notice or tell you that you drew the tree wrong. A building is designed so people are much more likely to notice something you forgot or screwed up.
