That's sad
I wasn't expecting there to be graves there.
I thought it was just the memorial, then when we walked round the back I was quite shocked that there were graves there :S

Yes it is sad he was with the 8th battalion London Regiment otherwise known as the Post Office Rifles. He had been in the Teritorial army and Being from Staffordshire as it was then I am not sure why he ended up in a London regiment.

I don't know much about any of my relatives being in WWI, but my Dad told me this (and I don't know how true it is, it does sound a bit like it was made up as a family joke to me).
He said that his Grandad, so my great grandad, was one of the first people to go over the top from the trenches and that he got out of the war because he was shot in the butt :S
I don't know whether I believe it or not though lol!
