I love Chaplin, and I love this piece. You captured his comedy and his fame, all in one shot.
He looks like he's excitedly waiting for his next moment in front of the camera.
Beautiful.
Cheers,
LordGhost

I have DVD box sets, posters, movies. The Great Dictator kicks. Awesome work btw. Gives me a... liquid feeling I guess, looking at it. No way to describe it.

This is really good. It's a bit minimalistic, but it really works for this picture. The hair is nice and detailed, and I really love the nose. The shading on the chin is also very nice.
Nitpicks:
The forehead is a bit too large, and the right eye (our left) seems detached. The ear looks a bit too flat.
Though those are mainly minor things. I'm very much loving the left eye (our right), and the minimalistic clothes. It's nice to see a painted portrait instead of the usual pencil drawings. And, of course, Chaplin just plain rocked. (My fave is Modern Times... brilliant movie.)

Amazing! Like how his eyes, mustache and eyebrows are very black. They stand out and give the composition nice contrast.

What did you use to make this? Is it chalk? It looks like chalk.
The likeness is very intriguing. You've done well, yet for some reason he looks like he's made of plastic... It's still good, though.

It's watercolor. My teacher wanted me to use india ink, but I told her it was a watercolor assignment, so I should do it in watercolor @_@. I wish I had done it in india ink though. It probably looks bad because I scanned it while it was behind glass ^_^ I didn't think it was possible, but it worked... just dulled up the color a bit for some reason...
