Oh, it was one of my first paintings. I´m fascinated by the beauty of the pitahaya fruits. And by Frida, of course. Thank you.

Have you ever tasted a pitahaya? They are quite common here. What I love about Fridas work, is that she could paint what was inside of her...

Auch sehr interessant...

Hab mich gerade mal per Google schlau gemacht, was Pitahayas eigentlich sind.

[link]
Gute Nacht und einen schönen Wochenanfang.

Very good - it has a lot of organic elements, but also has some mechanical or industrial elements (the circular perforated disks), too. I'm reading into it, but the tiny skeleton in the upper LH area adds to it for me: I get a sense of being crushed by industry and that progress isn't always positive. I don't even know what Pitahayas are - some kind of fruit, I'm guessing! I dunno - I just get a strong message about about industrial/mechanical production from this one, and that's good (makes me think). Oh, yeah, and I just watched "Fast Food Nation" last night, so that could be adding to it!

Thank you very much ! The painting is based on a Frida Kahlo-painting ("Pitahayas"). I just wanted to show the beauty of these fruits (also called Dreagonfruit).

When I was in Viet-Nam last December, I saw this similar fruit, for the first time in my life . It's called Dragon fruit. So is this Dragon Fruit by any chance? The appearance and the inside look the same? It was...tasteless to me, but the local people said it was good for the health

When I first saw this fruit in a fruit shop (it was presented cut open) I was absolutely fascinated. The most beautiful fruit I´ve ever seen. You´re right, they are near tasteless but everytime I see them (they are not available all time of the year in Germany) I buy some and I´m happy. The inside looks like yoghurt with poppy seeds.

So the fruit is good in the sense that it makes you happy I did take pictures of the fruit in the hotel room's fruit basket. I'm just waiting for Inspiration telling me to do paint it

Oh, I fear I must ask him tomorrow morning, he is just sleeping in front of the tv. Maybe I should whisper him something in his ear and so he will have a wonderful dream of Mexican cooking.

So homecooked Cinco de Mayo meal, ja? What you just said make me think about us ...DA addicts. It seems like we often stay up while our significant others often either fall asleep in front of the TV or in bed first

That´s correct. The fragile half needs more sleep. Especially when they´re over 40. But thats good for international conversation.

I love pitahayas... And they're simply impossible to get in Poland. The best thing I can buy is a pitahaya-flavoured apple drink

Again - beautiful, cheerful composition. You are quickly developing your very personal, reckognisable style. Congrats

Thank you very much for your sweet compliment. I love pitahayas too and I love this painting. Here in Germany they are also not often to get. Only 1 or 2 month in year and then they are very high pricey. But everytime I see some I buy them.
