gryphon, griffin, gryphen, griffen, gryphin ? so many different ways to spell it... whatever....anywho, took me quite awhile to finish this.. but this is a request by =Lord-Gryphon-Claw for my 4k kiribian!
And oddly enough, this is my first gryphon lol xD his name is Fetho (created by =Lord-Gryphon-Claw ) I don't know too much about the charater himself, so i hope i colored him correctly... oh and btw, the tips of his wings are supposed to glow... i don't know how well it showed up with all the glowy effects nearby...

hay Vox, which brush did you use for all the stary things?

cause that pic was a process of like 1000 different things..
but this one, this one is pretty simple... all i did was use the basic normal sized brush... using various sizes and such... with the color of white.. then i went into blending options (your version may or may not have blending options) and overlayed a bit of blue, followed by a small blue glow (just play around with the options until it looks good)
but it still didn't look very "sparkly" to me, so to make it shinier i took a very large fuzzy brush and added a bit of glow around the 2 main sparkles... and then i took an even larger brush and added a VERY feint bit white over the main areas of the sparkles... and then, i made some vauge white lines coming from the 2 main sparkles and burred them like crazy.... and THEN, (ya, this is a lot) i duplicated all the sparkles, blurred them, and changed the blending option to "pin light"
that second part is optional.. it still looks pretty good with just the basic parts...
and if all else fails, and your version doesn't have blending options, you can still do it... it just takes longer...
just make the dots as i said above, but make sure to make them whatever color you want them to be... then add a layer below the sparkles and use a soft blue (or whatever color you want) brush and make small glows outside each sparkle... and all that optional stuff should be in every version of photoshop...
but no, i didn't use any brush in particular.... if that answers your question.... xD

yep, i did them myself.. though I'm not sure what you mean by the shape... i just tend to make them all perfect circles then blur them...
ohya, i have a few pin light blendings in there... like for the blues and such... just overlay a color of blue and set it to various things like pin light....
i just kinda mess with it until it looks right...
nah, i don't use elements... my laptop came with CS2 and it TOTALLY OWNS elements.. so i never use elements...
well some of the effects are in separate layers... but for the most part, i just do it all from the blending options... (which acts like layers, but doesn't make clutter)
nope, i didn't just use a simple brush or anything... and i already explained the whole thing... did you get lost on anything?
OHYA! if you want more brushes, you just find them online somewhere... and download them, then open photoshop and click on the little arrow under the brushes menu... then click "load brushes" and find the file you downloaded... that's how you get new brushes.. but i doubt any brush you find will make any REALLY cool effects... usually they are just for the general shapes...
though, there are some really cool cloud brushes....

anyways, pin light is a blending option... just so you know...
lol xD i do not like elements at all.. it's missing so many features... really annoys me...
ya, you do have blending options on elements, they make the layers blend together in different ways... if you can kinda understand how they work, you'll know what to do... but that's all just experimentation...
what you don't have is Layer Styles.... which lets you make things glow, outline stuff with colors, create patterns... basically all the cool effects i do....
but you can still do most of the same stuff... you just have to make separate layers for everything and do it all by hand... so ya... as i said before... elements is terrible....
sorry..... it's not my fault adobe decided to not include a bunch of features...
ohya, I can give you the cloud brushes, but they look like real clouds... not cartoony ones....

but ya, just search around.... there are TONS of brushes out there.. just search for them on google... some you have to pay for... just a warning....

Wow wow WOW!!!! I really hope you get print sales on this, cuz it's AWESOME!! I love how you made the ends of the wings so shiny, and all the little glowing lights around the gryphon (I'll spell it that way XD) make it even better! I pretty much just love everything about this picture.

hmm well the charater took me roughly 6 hours...
the background really didn't take all that long... it was about 10 minutes for the green colors... and the stars and such took me like an hour to an hour and a half... quite easy with photoshop actually...
