Description Continuing my efforts to produce drawings/redesigns of Bionicle beings that are in desperate need of them.

I had studied the anatomy of kangaroos earlier, so it wasn't all that difficult to build up its frame and place LEGO pieces on it. Most of the torso is well hidden anyway.

Speaking about studying, I think I should be doing that for my imminent final exams, rather than drawing toys all the time, dontcha' think? It is my final day at high school, after all...

Aww. :3 Wonderful re-design, definately is a kangaroo. X3 I particularly like the ears and the hind mechanics of the legs. It's all quite complex. XD
Nice work, altogther. ^^

Nice. Tell me, what kind of pencil do you use?

For this, I used the following:
Faber-Castel Grip 2001 (2 1/2=HB)

Though usually, I don't pay that much attention to what type of pencil I use. I only check whether it's long enough.

I smell Slizers!

That's another thing I like about your recent submissions. The first few years of Bionicle (and especially 2001) used pieces that were "inherited" from the Slizers and Roboriders that came before them. And, while some might think that does not sound very original, you've blended the earliest form of this very well.

Ha! Szóval te is! Már attól féltem, én vagyok az egyetlen ilyen ember a Naprendszerben.

Egyébként még nem néztem át semmit. Gáz.

Very nice! You handle Rahi magnificently. It looks similar to the Fusa set while still having the complex anatomy of the standard humanoid species like Toa and Matoran. That's something I struggle with a great deal-- the only Rahi I can get to look good even in a sketch tend to be birds like the various Gukko varieties.

Glad you like it.
I used to suck at drawing even real-life animals as well, big time. It was only after I had bothered to look at the various body builds in detail that I learned how to make them look good. Even now, I still have trouble getting them to look natural. With Bionicle creatures, I believe it's a bit easier, since I don't have to coat them in skin and draw every muscle that may protrude.

Still, I need to practice more. Old school Mata Nui Rahi will be perfect for this.

A very good work! This Rahi is really looks like a kangaroo.

P.S.: have you planned to draw Rahi that was released as official Bionicle sets?)

skybard In reply to TheMugbearer [2010-04-30 16:05:15 +0000 UTC]

This one was released in an official set: [link]

The set had parts and instructions for the Fusa as well as several other minor Rahi (Fikou tree spider and Ussal crab, for example).

lol so funny how time gets away from us.
I definitely notice the detail and the anatomy is just spectacular. It very closely resembles something that my have come out of American Mcgee's Alice, but I could most certainly see this in a bionicle story. Nice job.
And good luck with your finals.
