Description So...I realized in my time on the site, I've made several oneshot pictures surrounding alternate universes/what if scenarios. I've wanted to explore and expand upon them, but in my attempt to try and stay limited to my projects, that's the reason why they've mainly remained as oneshot pictures. However, as an attempt to declutter my art/story list, I've opted to put several of them into an art dump. Enjoy. WARNING: LONG DESCRIPTIONS AHEAD!!! Numbered for your convenience.
1. "Fake Good/'Evil' " Scar/TLG AU

Long story short, after his evil plans to get rid of his brother/nephew went array and nearly killed Sarabi, Scar suffered a mental breakdown and turned good, unifying the pride with the Outsiders/hyenas and living a good life. After Sarabi died, he suffers another mental breakdown and decides to re-plot his revenge against his brother and nephew through the means of manipulating his great-nephew and leader of the Lion Guard Kion. The issue, Scar is so old and growing senile, he's lost much of his cunning and wit, but not his bravado. Also, Kion is too pure, too oblivious, and too sweet to actually fall for his great-uncle malicious whisperings and instead takes his advice in the unintended direction and loves spending time with his mentor and great-uncle.

Such dastardly deeds include:

-Convincing Kion to choose a non-lion team, in the hopes of ruining the Lion Guard's reputation and making the royal family look incompetent, instead 'adding diversity' to the team.
-Teaching Kion the "Lions Over All" philosophy, which Kion totally doesn't interpret as lions being the best at unifying and protecting all creatures due to their strength.
-Tricking the Guard into taking a day off during an important day, unknowingly giving them a mental/physical refresher after a strenuous shift.
-Trying to conspire with Janja's crew in order to stir up chaos, only to unintentionally convince them to make peace with Kion.

I can definitely see that after Kion gets his scar, Ushari mistakenly giving it to him, Scar snaps yet again, realizing how much Kion means to him as a pupil and family member, and unintentionally reveals his evil doings to the pride, who don't at all believe him since he's so old and very senile. Only Kiara/Nuka/Kovu/Vitani/Zira and a couple others were actually aware of Scar's plans and were holding bets to when he would stop/be found out. Scar demands that Kion go seek help at the Tree of Life, Kion does so, and grumpy, old, senile Scar is grumpy, senile, and old.

2. What if Simba lost, Nala and her pride were banished, and Kiara grew up in the Outlands?

Alright, so this is one picture that is actually based off a story idea that I've had for over a year now and I'd like to share it with you all.

In this universe, Simba ends up defeating Scar, but Zira ends up pushing Simba into the fire after witnessing Scar's death. Zira then assumes control of Pride Rock and banishes a pregnant Nala and the remaining Pridelanders to the Outlands. Nala swears revenge on her mate's killers and vows to restore the land to it's proper rulers.

Nala gives birth to Kiara(and maybe Kion?) and tries to raise her to be a dutiful ruler while surviving in the harshness of the Outlands. The Pride/Shadowlands are improving a bit with some rainfall and plants/herds returning, but the Outlands are developing at a much better rate due to Nala's better management of the land. Kiara is growing up, being taught about her father/history and the mission of restoring her pride to their home on day. She meets Kovu one day, the prince straying onto Outlands soil out of curiosity, and the two start a clandestine friendship, or at least for Kovu's side. Nala, though reluctant to let her child be friends with a member of Zira's pride, recognizes the opportunity that by letting a relationship foster, Kovu is unintentionally giving her daughter and pride a way to sneak on in and overthrow the pride. Nala allows Kovu to come on over and play with her daughter as much as he likes, though not to tell his mother about it. Kovu starts to get to know Nala and Kiara's pride, as well as Kiara, and finds out they're not as bad as he had been told. Kiara also gets a friend, though is still taught about her mission to one day reclaim her homeland.

Years pass, both Kiara and Kovu grow up, and the drastic changes between the Outlands and Pride"Shadow"lands is evident. Nala's wise management and ruling, plus a couple sneaky, unauthorized dam/irrigation construction, has made the Outlands into a beautiful, healthy land, even attracting many of the herds from across the river. Meanwhile the Shadowlands are going through another drought and the pride is in danger of starvation. After a totally not-planned fire and rescue, Kiara saves Kovu and comes up with a story about how she was planning on living out on her own for a little bit and just so happened to run across Kovu in trouble while on her trip and decided to save him. Kovu invites her to stay with his pride, her rescue giving her some credibility, as well as superb hunting talents(made in part by her pride chasing herd animals in the areas where she and the pride are hunting). Zira is extremely suspicious of Simba's daughter, as are Vitani and Nuka, but Kiara's presence soon begin to warm up the pride and she earns their respect.

I was going to go further into this, though I'm still debating whether or not I want to make this an actual project in the future, so I'll keep some things absent. I will say that I had envisioned a scene where Kovu takes Kiara to where Simba, her father, was buried, and there's a very touching scene where Kovu leaves Kiara to grieve, yet still overhears her emotional 'conversation/meeting' with her father and feels guilt for how his mother and pride have treated Kiara and her pride. Also Kiara/Nala aren't evil, but they are more cunning and devious than their original TLK2 counterparts. Nala can be ruthless, merciless, and stern, but she's still queen of the pride, has a fierce love and devotion to her pride, daughter, homeland, and cause, and can still understand when she's pushing her daughter and pride too hard. Kiara, basically if you swapped out her naivete and replaced it with a cunning nature. She can certainly play the part of oblivious if need be, but she's more clever, a bit witty, and is willing to play dirty. The story would basically focus on her struggling to keep her loyalty to her mother/pride/father's memory vs her developing feelings for Kovu and the realization that by trying to overthrow the pride she is just repeating history.

Also for this story I came up with an OC, a vitiligo, buff babysitter lioness which also acts as a love interest for Nuka named Kenya. If I ever get around to making this project, this is what you're gonna get.

3. "Parent Swap" AU + "Lions of the Outlands" ep.

I made mention of this before in the previous picture I had for this, but in the universe where Kion is Simba/Zira's son and is taken in by his father and Nala after his mother's exile, he would've been made aware of it prior to his meeting with the Outsiders. In the Lions of the Outlands episode, it still comes as a shock to him when he meets and reunites with his mother and half-siblings, which are probably as shocked to know about his presence as he is to theirs'.

I'm not fully sure whether I want a bittersweet, tragic, heart-wrenching tale when he decides to stay on his father/stepmother/half-sister's side and in the end blasts them away with his roar in order to protect his family and home or go the Anakin/Dark side route, decide that his father's actions are unacceptable so he opts to join up with his Outlander mother and half-siblings and return his mother's pride back home, though he will probably still try to spare his step-mother and half-sister, and maybe try to reason with his dad. After all, this Kion might have a bit more of his mother's traits, quicker to anger, arrogant, prideful, but he's not evil.

Oh and "Nuka". He's Sarabi X Scar's son and thus Simba's younger, half-brother in this AU, nevermind the other Nuka which was added with Kovu and Vitani. I was a little late to realize what I've done, but I've decided to keep it and have two Nuka's, one as Scar X Sarabi and the other as Zira X Scar. The SxS "Nuka" is much more nicer, kinder, and better than his younger ZxS half-brother, and has a much nicer name to reflect that which I still have yet to come up for him. He serves as Simba's guard, not on the Lion Guard, and probably is not at all for Kion spending time with his mother's side of the family.

4. Concept character/alternate versions TLK2 AU. (Chaka/Naba + Nunka/Shetani/Bianca )

So the challenges were a great way for me to work on my art/OC making skills, but they were also a good way for me to get out several story ideas. Case in description:

Naba and Chaka are Simba and Nala's children in this AU, Naba being the future queen and replacing Kiara and Chaka replacing Kion as leader of the (Lion)Guard. Naba is essentially Kiara, but the idea that Kiara doesn't want to be queen is because her father has put so much pressure on her from a young age, increased to eleven, plus add in the anxiety of following in the huge footsteps of her father and grandfather, and insecurities about herself.  From the very beginning, Naba was seen everywhere as a brilliant beacon of hope. Inheriting the traditional golden coat of her forefathers and even the diamond marking of the late, great queen Uru, the kingdom rejoiced for her presence, believing her rule would follow in the same footsteps as the rulers before her and lead them into a golden era. Such expectations were placed on her at such a young age, even by her parents, and this utterly freaks the poor girl out. Naba is terrified at the idea of failure, but feels like she just can't amount to the expectations put in place for her. She's also terribly anxious and socially awkward, fearing that lions won't like her for who she is, or who she wants to be, and is so terrified that she shuts down to the outside world. This makes it difficult, seeing as she'll be set to inherit the throne one day and interactions are key to success. She's also fearful of being too far away from her parents or familiar territory. She wants to be brave and confident like her parents and everyone else, but it's very hard for her to get out of her shell and face the world.

Chaka, her younger brother, here is a gentle giant, inheriting much of his build and size from his grandfather, and is very different in personality from his sister. He is a warm, loving, confident lion, always willing to lend a paw. This lion would die for you to ensure your safety and go to any length to make your day. That being said, he is very dedicated to serving the kingdom and being there for his sister, often assisting her when her anxiety gets the better of her. Simba often considers whether or not Chaka is more suited the being future ruler than Naba, which just makes the poor girl even more anxious and worried.

Speaking of Simba, in this universe, his worry/anger towards the Outsiders has been dialed up more and he's a bit more angry and impatient than his TLK2 self, which is an issue considering the overall nature of the Outsiders themselves. He was left pretty messed up by the revelation of his uncle's betrayal, even and the anger towards all those years blaming himself. As a result, he decided to mercilessly remove any lingering trace of Scar in the Pridelands, not even allowing a chance to be given towards the Outsiders and Zira. He's become pretty controlling and overprotective, not just towards his daughter, but to his entire pride and the Pridelands. He does so in the name of returning the Pridelands to it's original glorious state when it was under his father, though any of the animals who returned will say that he's a bit(lot) more paranoid and distrusting, especially towards Outsiders. The Pridelands are doing better, but Simba's insistent controlling behavior does come off as off putting, especially when it comes to issues such as migrations, immigrations and dealing with grey issues among species.

The latter issue is becoming a bigger problem thanks to Bianca(replacing Zira), the widowed queen of king Scar and the Outalnds. Yes, she did technically try and attack Simba after Simba came in and upended everything she knew and loved before exiling her. The stress started getting to her, making her short-tempered and frequently lash out at her pride and children. That all came to a grinding halt as, in one of her foaming, maniacal frenzies, she suddenly becomes aware that she is standing over her scared, frightened children, Nunka and Shetani, claws outstretched, ready to attack. This event triggers something inside of Bianca and she begins to calm down. After some heavy, painful discussion, she vows to try and get help for her emotional state and try to be a good leader for the Outsider pride.

It takes some time, but Bianca soon realized that while Simba did wrong her and her family, so did Scar, so perhaps she didn't have the best people-reading skills. She realized she had willingly let her pride suffer under Scar and now they were to continue so here. With two cubs and a pride dependent on her, she now tries to make things work with what they've got, which isn't much, but with some animals getting fed up with how Simba is acting, she does have some more opportunities to make things work. With some careful negotiations and land management, the Outlands isn't the absolute worse place in the world to be and over time begins to look better and better, which infuriates Simba. He tries to place warnings and threats towards his subjects and the Outsiders, though Bianca is managing to gain some loyalty and respect with how non-aggressive, agreeable, and more generous she appears with her rules about being on her land.

As for her children, Nunka(replacing Nuka and Kovu) and Shetani(replacing Vitani), the two try their best to help their pride and mother out by aiding in land management and negotiations. Nunka is very protective, loyal, optimistic and friendly, willingly going out and making the incoming animals on his territory feel more at ease and welcome. He actively goes out and tries to make people feel nice, but mess with him or his family and he'll be quick to show you the exit, still with a wide smile on his face. Growing up in a hard landscape did make him humble, though he still does desire to see those who have done wrong by him or others be brought to justice. He does have some dreams of coming into the Pridelands and overthrowing's Simba in order to make everyone's lives easier, though his mother has strictly forbidden openly antagonizing the king, though she is openly a hypocrite for saying that.

Shetani, as Nunka's younger sister and Bianca's daughter, is pretty similar to Vitani, minus a bit more aggressive and energetic. You mess with her family, she'll mess up your face. She's still very intelligent, quickly rising through the ranks to become her mother's top scout and strategist. She still doesn't like Pridelanders and she's rather suspicious of her brother's guest he keeps inviting onto their side.

See, during a peaceful negotiation*(*see shouting match with angry king vs irritated, but calm queen), Simba brought along his daughter, who somehow managed to wander off in the commotion and land on the wrong side of the river. Scared and helpless, Nunka discovers her, quickly realizes what happened, and decides to help her get back across. As the make their way towards the log bridge, the two chat a bit and start to realize that they aren't really enemies and actually have a lot in common. It starts to go fine until Simba spots them and tries to lunge at him to defend his daughter. Bianca leaps into action, letting her calm exterior drop to reveal the angry, defensive face as she screams at him to get away from her son. Though the king quickly leaves with his daughter and Nunka is pretty shaken from the experience, he can't stop thinking back to the Pridelander princess.

Years pass, the Outlands have been getting better and relations with the animals have improved immensely, to a point where all of the animals are beginning to support the Outsiders almost as much or more then the current pride. Nunka is head of managing allies and peace operations and still does dream occasionally about overthrowing Simba, but his family's safety and happiness is more important to him. One day, a bush fire breaks out on the savanna and the animals are forced to evacuate over the rivers to safety, many of them coming into the Outlands. Among the animals is the king's daughter herself, the princess, who was finally out on her own during her first hunt when disaster struck. With the fires raging across the river, she is stuck on the Outsider's territory and at their mercy. In spite of their dislike for her father and pride, the Outsiders are kind to her, or at least civilly in the case of Shetani. When the fires die down after a couple of days, the princess is returned safely back to her homeland along with the other animals.

I initially was thinking about a romance between Naba and Nunka, but after remembering that Nunka is supposed to be, in concept, Scar's son, that's obviously going to put a stake into that. Instead, Chaka and Naba are Nunka's cousins since Nunka is Scar and Bianca's son, but because Shetani is Bianca's daughter and Nunka's half-sister, and thus has no relation to Scar, she will be made as a love interest for Chaka. The big lug is completely besotted of this rough, cold, scruffy, uninterested girl and slowly his kindness, compassion and energy starts to melt the bitter Outsider's heart, with some help from both Naba and Nunka. Insert a bit of a forbidden romance between the two, followed by a friendship between cousins and helping overcome timidity and anxiety through friendship and sharing feelings, some drama, and pretty much the same ending as the original.

Also Vitani's squad gets merged from four into two, I'll let you guys decide which two will get paired into a single lioness each. Also Zuri and Tiifu get merged as well here and into a villainous lioness who tries and seduces Chaka and inevitably helps cause the war between the Outsiders and Pridelanders.

Yeah, so if you guys reached the end of this, I just want to thank you for wading through this dump. If you see something you like, feel free to take it for your own, I do approve of recycling, though keep my Nuka love-interest/vitiligo/babysitter/lioness Kenya alone or I'll sue.

Man this description is long. Glad to get rid of all this clutter though.
