Description OK, been a little while since last post (just been rather busy with other things) but here's the first in a beginning wave of new TKP work

What we have here is a small collection of cleaned up thumbnail concepts of Indus Wallriders. These were just quickie rough thumbs I did cleaned up light box versions of.

What might a wallrider be?

Nope, not flying cars/hover car type things.

Instead what we have are Indus only type of vehicles that ride, suspended between buildings, on tracks like a train, so the wheels are sticking out the sides. They are commonly called Wallriders and sometimes Altamobiles as well. Indus is literally an architectural maze so it felt more interesting to have something locked into it's environment and not the easy flying car thing (not that there's anything wrong with those).

Most Indus citizens have gotten used to this type of travel but many Policer and P.I.s hate em because they tend to be problematic in a 3D architectural environment, takes time to travel to some places depending on where you want to be. This is why Police work is so dependent on Sendai Taedus use partners as those can fly and move with speed and ease in the environment. More of these type of vehicles will show up in the gallery in the future.

More stuff pending...

Cheers!

Those rings above the top of the buses, are they holographic?

Brilliant concept! I like the idea of limiting the vehicles movement in this way. Very retro and yet utterly original. Gives the immediate impression of an oppressive urban futurescape. I'd like to see how this unique traffic system impacts the visual aesthetic of the city.

Just caught this one.

Thanks Rob I hope it's different, I can't say I've seen anything quite like how we planned the idea out. The wallrider thing has been part of this material since well before it was called Theos Ke Polemos, waay back to 1990 when things were just sparking as to the shape of it all. That long ago. It was for the same reason, I stated, we did that. Vehicles locked on tracks just seemed like something different than the flying cars we always see and it fit the claustrophobic nature of Indus. You'll be seeing more and more this year so you will see more examples of these in their environment

*whistles* 20 years in development... Props for the commitment.
The accumulated body of work is pretty awesome, and I know we're not even seeing all of it yet.

Yeah, the genesis of this stuff was 20 years back. Not quite 20 years, non stop though, more I came back to it, in a serious endeavor, around the late 90s-early 2000s. It's been some really serious work since 2000 but I think it was around 96-97 when I began contemplating it again.

Aye, there's a LOT you guys haven't seen. Some I probably won't post as I would like it part of the surprise if we see this in full production, some you'll be seeing here for sure I plan to post something in a DA journal soon-ish to really adress what I feel this project has been evolving towards/into in it's present form online.

To put it simply here it's beginning to feel like it is somewhat evolving into a work similar to stuff like Hyper Weapon, MaK., etc. There's the sense of various creators (related or unrelated, connected by a movement of common interest) wanting to visually explore a magnetically unique setting, which is much the vibe of the harcore mecha modeling set in Japan. I don't say this of any conceit, to be honest I'm humbled by all the interest but it's fantastic as this kinda thing tends to grow and have a life of it's own. I plan to talk about this in more detail for sure at some point.

More work is indeed coming soon

Cheers!

In that case, I'll reserve further comment until after this impending journal post. But, per standard operating procedure, I'm very interested to hear more of what you've got to say on the subject. I discovered hyperweapon tragically late... (and truly all this online community jazz). I dig the fact that there's a deep 'scene' growing here, totally noteworthy on its own, regardless of future full production prospects. Grateful I haven't missed the boat on THIS! The subject matter, matched w/ sophisticated themes and high production standards is really niche territory, especially in the west. Often a frustrating thing for many of us, I'm sure. Major respect for taking matters into your own hands and building what needed to be built! So much for reserving comment... I'll be watchin'

My thanks Theos is a very Film NOIR kinda project in many ways so it's rather fitting to have some retro styling.

You're an industrial designer and don't even know it!

Danke good sir Indeed I try to design, something or other. How much I hit the industrial sweet spot I can't say as I tend to keep visual aesthetics in the forefront and simply try to make it look believable Ultimately, having fun is my M.O. if I can manage it.

Danke for the kind tweet about the work too Tomas. Dumping Chromebird as it sucks to keep up with messages, almost missed it. Hope you're well man.

Cheers!

Nice! I assume you must've studied some old cars of the 1940's - '50's.

Good for you to come in once in a while.

Dunno what happened to me original reply, it went and disappeared O_o

Aye, indeed there's distinct 40s-50s deco era styling to the vehicles so yes I do look to that time period for visual cues.

Thanks Aye, plan to post a good deal more soon.

Cheers!
