One more post for this eve... a collection of Electro Arc Weapons, more commonly referred to as "Lighters".

These weapons were fun to come up with. Simple, unique, and elegant looking. These are probably the most "sci-fi" guns in TKP posted so far.

This is another example of SOL wide slang becoming accepted into a new common usage. Lighter has been a slang term for Shettier weapons for ages in SOL. Something similar to the classic Film Noir 40s slang heater. Lighter, or light em up. The term came from the electro ignition caps in the flechette shells.

As sendai human relations grew more complex (and dangerous depending) weaponry evolved as well to deal with sendai in various ways (though clearly deadly to humans as well, actually often could be more so). A form of electro arc gun was developed that could fire an arc of electricity at a target with varying levels of intensity and non-lethal to lethal results. These weapons are predominantly carried by humans but, yes, sendai can and do use them as well.

Lighters were developed to send an almost E.M.P. type attack on Sendai systems to disable or even kill them, again depending on setting or power of the weapon. Many use these weapons as a humane, non-lethal take down but these weapons can kill both sendai and humans depending on the model. Naturally sendai developed counter shielding measures to these weapons which prompted the manufacture of even more powerful Lighters.

Depicted here we have, from the top, 4 Gavil Lighters(the 4th from top is an older Gavil model with Dies parts as well). The very top weapon was based on a design by Steve Loveland (co-creator of the primary material that evolved into Theos Ke Polemos) and the designs that followed retained many of his cues. The Gavil models sport forward grip that is actually the safety. When the grip is in forward it's in safe mode. Pull the grip back, it's in fire mode. Pressing the button on the side, above the trigger, puts it back to safe mode.

The two on the bottom are a Jeindel model (very bottom with Jeindel in Greek letters) and a Geind model (next one from bottom). All these weapons typically have a retro musket appearance though there are exceptions, always are.

Being these weapons are basically a type of taser on steroids it's simply a handle with the arc generator and power cell. They are typically very clean in visual appearance due to their simple function. It should also be noted that Shettiers can often have a Lighter built into the weapon as well.

Sweet and my thanks I've never made anything like that but I have used a welding torch before.

They're pretty clean designs but the reaction they're getting is precisely the intent, stylish and classy.

...and the TKP arsenal gets a tad doper!

I wonder -do they have any sort of additional contact function? Seems like they'd be good for (besides pistol whipping and tazin at range) jabbing someone in the side or back.

They're pretty straight forward but as to contact I envision them being able to throw a somewhat controlled arc at a reasonable distance but still somewhat ranged close. It's certainly a more sci-"fiction" kinda deal. The arc gun Wikus uses in District 9 is along these lines only it seemed a lot more messy XD There's some really strange stuff behind the scenes of the TKP setting though so there's some room to play with more fanciful stuff.

And yes, you could shiv someone with it or pistol whip them I suppose LOL

Thanks man
