I don´t think it depends on using infrared! I am using sharp and detailed photos only. The rest is processing with the photoshop raw plugin and Silver Efex...

lol I see, I'm still learning to manage dof so I don't always get an image that sharp throughout or that nice without cranking up on the contrast.

Also does monochrome not work for every scene, I have some pictures I converted that have areas of Grey confusion, I guess is the best way to put it? (Especially with larger landscape shots.)

Taking infrared photos I use to shoot at f10 or higher for a great dof and sharpness. Not all photos are ideal for bw...
