Not bad for a first attempt. I have quite a lot of copper wire after having a new kitchen fitted so I plan to do more of this sort of thing.

can you do it in silver... embracing a large bezel... perhaps for an amber stone.

Yes. I could do that.

This is amazing. Would you be able to make a woven copper bracelet like this, or can you only do ring sized copper weaves? If so, I would like to talk to you about making a couple of torc style bracelets (the open ended sort) how much it would cost, how long it would take, etc. I live in New Zealand, so it would be international shipping.

Sorry to have taken so long to reply but I have been thinking about your question. I am sorry but I have not got any wire suitable for your project to hand & I am a bit busy at the moment to take on any commissions.

Can You please post a tutorial of that?

Wabbit-t3h In reply to MykolasK [2011-07-21 14:04:59 +0000 UTC]

I used a wire weaving tutorial from YouTube [link] to make the band. I didn't use the kit they sell I made do with my own vice etc. The ring is shaped on a steel ring mandrel using a polyester mallet & the join at the back is soldered with copper solder from [link]

Sorry for having taken so long to get back to you but I have been trying to source copper solder because, in testing, the copper plating proved insufficient. I am waiting for copper solder to come to the UK from China (the only place I could find it in stock). I have, however, produced sufficient woven wire to fulfil orders as soon as it arrives if you would like one. Ring weave is available in a finer 5 mm (which I could make in women's sizes too) or a very chunky 6 mm. The rings are £15 each + £3 postage and packaging world wide or £7 recorded delivery. The ring size chart I am working with to help you choose which size to order is in my scrapbook at [link]

I feel like my eyes just want to follow the trail on their own, and that I'll be trapped for hours if I let them. What weirds me out is the fact that I wouldn't mind being trapped.

A ring would be great.
Id' really like a bracelet though. Something loose and linked. I used to have three but have lost two in the last year and I really miss having copper bracelets around my wrists.
Any chance of that?

How about copper chain mail bracelets. I could experiment with something quite chunky for you.

NP..cost it out first please!. I'm not exactly wealthy but I absolutely believe that an artist or artisan be properly compensated. I might not be able to afford your work..but on the other hand...I'd LOVE to have a custom bracelet.

I'm sorry it has taken me so long to reply, but please have a look at [link] I made this bracelet thinking of you. I don't want you to feel any obligation to buy it because I am always looking for something to make & I can't help & don't mind where the inspiration comes from. Also I find it difficult to price the first one of anything before I've made it. The second one is easy to price of course, because you know how long the first one took. Anyway, let me know if you like it.

How much do I owe you and what will it cost to send it?
Also - form of payment preferred?

I'm sorry to hear that you have lost someone special to you & I hope that the bracelet will help you to remember them fondly. The bracelet will cost $60 Canadian including postage. If you want it sent insured it will cost $70. I have paypal to accept payment.

SinnerDom In reply to Wabbit-t3h [2011-05-28 15:36:49 +0000 UTC]

I don't have that much money in my paypal account.
Could I just send you the cash?
I asked my credit union and they can get English pounds or euros if I give them a weeks notice.
I'll just put that in an envelope and send it that way ok?
