He goes along witht the jackrabbit. They'll have names eventually. The only photo ref I had handy was a forward shot of two males. Both had their legs hidden so I did what I could without knowing what antelope legs look like. I'll have to change those later!Related content

No, no, you are probably right about the leg! I didn't have a leg ref, so I took a stab at them and they probably aren't even true to antelope legs. XD

Very nice work! Your sketches look great. I really hope you get some actual animation done someday. I know you're working on it, but it's such a huge daunting task.
Hopefully one day, we'll see your studio and your animated movies on the big screen!

I hope so too! I'm finding I just don't have the time for it in college, but I'm hoping to take courses in animation while my boy is in grad school.
I'm a sucky leader and would much rather hide in dark basements animating for people than trying to run a studio.

I adore drawing deer, so I just based the legs off of them and enlarged the hooves (deer have adorable teeny feet!).

Yeah I love deer too! But since I was a Bambi-addict I didnยดt draw any deers and yeah...now I suck at ^^
Maybe if you have some free-time left you could do a general tutorial on deers? *puppy-eyes*

Ooo, we'll see if I can fit one in. Anything to draw deer some more! The main thing I find that effects their design is the nose and what you choose to focus on. For instance, you can draw the nostrils or you can focus on the nose pad, or the top of the nose pad, or the nose pad and nostrils together. Bambi focused more on the nose pad top, but it always looked like a canine nose to me (Love that movie despite the doggy noses!).
