Description Transparency and alpha layers - the MMD user's nightmare. This tutorial will hopefully explain how to handle transparent layers.

If you want to use transparency, you have to use PNG/TGA/DDS textures. JPG and BMP don't support transparency.

The 'precedence' thing is an especial head-scratcher as the 'simple' take on Alpha channels is they'll just 'play nice'. Well, they don't, and you've nailed it !!

See this Is one of those few and rare actually helpful MMD tutorials, instead of just a redundant tutorial done 100 times over.
