Description The result of mocking with unknown buttons. I hope this actually helps someone.

NOTE: Older PMD versions (thus the English translation) use a different method. ASK ME if you want me to make a tutorial for that too.

~Mayuen
told me about a glitch where merging too many layers could cause the model look weird. To prevent this, just undo the step, make the model update itself (change layer order or update textures) and merge the layers one by one.
Thanks for the info.

This is helpful. But I have another question in mind, how do you make a material follow another material?
If you don't know what I mean well...
Here's what happened; I loaded up the gem part for my model and tried to make it follow on the arm glove part I also have on my model right now, but the gem won't follow the arm glove. So do you think you have any answers for this? I hope you do, but thanks!

What you need is called skinning, or rigging, or weighting. Search for "pmx weighting", I'm sure there are tons of tutorials that can teach you better than I can in a comment.

Thank you so much for posting this it was very difficult to find someone who explains this in a simplistic way and not getting off track! no one so far that I have found said hey Ctrl and click the selected layers to merge then right click it was hey just right click its there...

It's kind of a universal constant - if you see a list, you can usually Ctrl + click to select multiple items, or Shift + click to select a range of items.

there is no way to merge two diferent layers without altering the textures?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Wampa842 In reply to Rescued-Doll [2015-12-15 13:23:13 +0000 UTC]

No. Mesh objects in PMD/X are separated by material, which makes it inherently impossible to have multiple textures assigned to the same mesh objects.

It's called PMD editor (or PMX editor), you can download it here.

PMDe sometimes glitches when merging to many layers at once, making the model look all weird. To prevent this, simply undo the action once, switch the places of the layers and try again. That should do it. Just wanted to throw that out in case you didn't know about it, sorry if you already did.

Nice little tutorial you got there anyway ^^

Thanks a lot for the info, I'll put it in the description right away.
I've never tried merging more than 4 layers, so I never had the chance to witness it.

It wouldn't be a problem if the developers took some time to write a decent english translation.
