Still cool though! I would call it a digital painting. It's awesome how you blended that turquoise and purple. I still don't know how to do that.

Very easy mate. Just make a new layer over your painting. Set it to overlay then choose a colour and use the gradient tool (it's under the eraser tool grouped with the a paintbucket, the keyboard shortcut is G). Then one colour at the top and one at the bottom makes this simple effect.
