First: [link]I think I killed my gray markers… I hope I can get them replaced.
Second and final part of my audition. That makes a total of 13 and a half pages all drawn within the span of roughly 3 weeks… I think that’s considered a record for me comic wise.
The coloring I tried to pull off here was a sort of contrast/retro look. With only a hand full of selected colors (not counting the different shades of the same color) and filling the panels with just enough to bring out the characters and not make it look too bland.
The reason I drew the flashback of events in a sorta stick figure form is because the original concept was to use my persona form. But since the rules say I have to be human, I can cheat with my story concept by just doing stick figures to portray the events
(this is cause if I do make it to the next round, I plan to be teamed up with =Cheeko-001 , so without saying that I got chanced coming to the Real like her, it could be part of it, does that make any sense?)In any case, should I get picked to continue to the next round in the tournament, or not, I learned a great deal just doing this audition. So much so that I feel a new sense of motivation to better produce EH at a timely basis.
Anyway, here’s to hoping I get chosen. Good luck to all you guys out there who are also auditioning.

Hi, Wazaga! ^^ Finally dropped by to comment on your wonderful comic. I found it when auditions first came out and was kinda drowned by the number of auditions (ugh fail), but I thought you deserved a real comment. Because your audition is absolutely lovely.
Anyhoo! I really love your characters! Phox is beautiful, and I love her polite form of speech. And Rocky is abso-stinkin'-lutely adorable, especially in those bottom panels there.

You may find this an impertinent question, but enlighten me:
Was there a specific reason you went from full-colour markers to a more subdued colour scheme? And was this more in the interest of time constraints, or was it something you intended from the get-go?
I'm just curious, is all.

well, it's a little bit of everything really...
I've always had a major problem with keeping deadlines with myself when it comes to making comics. and because of it, my personal webcomic has been sorta suffering.
Auditioning for the tournament opened several opportunities for me. one was the need to create, write and produce a short comic story of several pages within the deadline. the other was experimenting with a new media that I haven't really taken the time to actually practice.
my original plan was to make the first part in full color, the reason was to practice blending, shading and strokes for texture.
then make the second part gray-scale only, the reason being to practice tones and depth. but my gray markers were running out and I currently can't afford to replace them, so I was forced to improvise by adding the few colors I did as a substitute.
so it was more for an artistic reason than anything. and with having less to worry about in the coloring department, I managed to add a whole extra page at the end.
in any case, I really enjoyed doing this. it was a great learning experience for me, and I hope to take that and incorporate it into my own webcomic

nah, the blues aren't prismas. they are some sort of architect markers that I found on sale for cheap. 6 shades of the same color and still fairly new.

wow, this is really frickin good. I haven't seen any of your other stuff, but i can tell you've done this before. The art is excellent of course, but in especially impressed with the writing and pacing, super good job. Im entering AatR also and trying to wrap up my audition in time and can tell already there's going to be some stiff competition. Good luck!

If they have any objections to us forming a team. I'm worried that it might go against what plans they have for the contest, or if they feel it would cause any complications within the competition. If worse comes to worse, we just call a truce and travel together through the Real, not necessarily fight together. :/

The only thing I found weird was the switch from full colour to minimal colour. Was that supposed to be on purpose? Because it makes it looks rather unfinished.

erm..... yeah, it was actually. part of it was testing color effects,and part of it was struggling to make it on time. even if I did have 5 days left.
