Thank you so much for this beautiful picture, and the beautiful words.
As a Christian who has been raised my entire life to respect what others believe, it's really hard sometimes to look at religious works of art because I know that there will inevitably be the comment about how evil religion is, how stupid/insane/naive I am, and how nothing good comes of organized religion. I've had teachers mock my beliefs in school, and friends tell me I was full of crap. Faith is never an easy thing, and people do get misled and overzealous....but if there's faith out there that humanity is good, and that it is our duty to love and care for one another no matter what our differences are, I can't believe that it's entirely bad.
Things will get worse before they get better, they always do. But they WILL get better.
The colors on this are lovely, and are those some adorable Cherished Teddies I see to the left of Mary? ^.~ I used to collect those.

This photo is truly inspiring. I'm not religious either, but when you see such scenery, you can't help but wonder what it's all for... A truly beautiful shot

Gorgeous sky, impressive and natural-looking. The statue looks like an anchor for the pic, the ripples between red and blue seem to be emanating from her... Nature's beauty works really well to illustrate your point about faith!

I am no fan of organized religion but the fact that there is definitely more to this life than our bodies can interpret/understand in this universe.
When we look big, the universe is without end
When we look small, the universe is without end
When we look at ourselves, we need to know that we also are without end. Our physical bodies are indeed temporary but I've no doubt that I'm merely here to learn some things I couldn't learn somewhere else...

You see it as something wonderful, and yet the dark cloud behind her says to me something quite different.
You see the nurturing figure, probably Mary though it could be any figure of faith and still work, which speaks of peace and love and caring. Yet then there is the dark cloud, which so often symbolizes evil, and a sky the appears to be on fire.
I'm not really sure where I'm going with that. One part of me sees it as faith is proctecting from the fire, another sees the nurturing as mearly a figurehead to the fire and evil.

I was in Cape Breton last week for Celtic Colours International Festival. Faith is strong there. Not only in word but actions. Most of the music there started in parish or community halls and even people's homes at family gatherings.
I think there is hope for the human race because of peoples' faith. ....and yes, I too admire people of faith as long as they are tolerant of others. Thanks John.

The only problem is that, if that faith is misplaced, it becomes not a force of good, but rather, a force of evil. (Not just quite the Muslims, as you may be thinking, but every kind of zealotry is wrong and evil.)

Im not religious either but I do believe there is a greater being than us mere mortals. Your photography of incredibly awesome landscapes and skyscapes prove that to me. Man had NO hand in it !!!

If one's faith bears no prejudice or hurt, then I guess it's ok.
Goodness comes in all sizes and colors, so I think that if it's good for you and doesn't disrespect others, God blesses your faith.
