Description The spirits of Lake Superior are known to make appearances on the coldest of winter days when the winds blow them across the open waters.

This particular day was -38c ... -50c with the wind chill factor. The coldest shoot I've ever done. There were only a few very high and thin clouds that day.. the rest of what you see here is mist rising from the waters 200 feet in the air. The swell from the open lake at the tip of Sibley Peninsula keeps this water from freezing over completely through even the coldest of winter months.

January 2006. Near Silver Islet on the tip of Sibley Peninsula, Lake Superior. Ontario, Canada.
