Common throughout hyperspace and star faring worlds Neo-cetaceans such as the Abeoloi and M'n'Kuhl are a highly intelligent species at times showing Human or near human intellect, reasoning, and awareness.

Abeoloi are Social creatures living in extended family pods, and traveling great distances through hyperspace on multi year migrations following their favorite food sources. They are swift, agile and cunning hunters working in tandem to take prey considered too dangerous for humans to hunt.

While showing human intelligence and a reluctance to attack or approach Starships Abeoloi are hunted by several groups both inside the TAE/Valkiir/Tau alliance and non aligned Star faring states. This has made Abeoloi skittish and sometimes volatile toward Human and other starships, and out right aggressive to ships operating in the Hunting industry.

Both Abeoloi and M'nKuhl have the ability to transit directly between Hyper and Normal space, and survive for short periods of time in hard vacuum. This couple with extraordinary abilities to detect and track electromagnetic noise, and generate dangerous burst of telemetric energy and plasma Make Abeoloi hunting a dangerous and bloody affair with many deaths aboard Hunter ships each year.

Abeoloi travel protected by an outer envelop of Bull males and Juveniles, which scout ahead of the pack and respond to threats to the Cows, nd Calves travelling at the center of the Formation.
Juveniles will often buzz or harass ships to distract them while the Bulls cover the pods retreat and attack any threat not discouraged or drawn off by the faster more agile Juveniles.

In addition the Abeoloi are often accompanied by a large pod of M'm"kuhl which join in common hunts and scout for the large more powerful Abeoloi. Often Space is filled with the radio frequency pulses and chatter of the joint flotilla and constantly swept by powerful natural radar making the area almost impossible o enter unknown, or communicate using radio with any success.

Biology:

Abeoloi and M'n'Kuhl are viviparous, warm blooded oxygen breathers nursing their young with milk secreted by the Mother. The are able to digest a wide variety of foods, including terrestrial origin proteins and carbohydrates. In addition they can metabolize Exe, and Hyper isotopes incorporating them into the heavy armor and nodules of crystal throughout their bodies.

The ability to extract concentrate and utilize Hyper matter is a mixed blessing for both species, it allows them to fully utilize the nutrients of both normal and Hyperspace, but it makes their bodies rich stockpile of exotic material which are highly sought after for manufacture of advanced technology.

Abeoloi are often observed to grow to great size with the eldest bulls of a established pod reaching 30 meters in their late adult stages These Alpha bulls can seriously threaten any civilian ship, Hunter or light warship. as well as pose a threat to planet side facilities if they become enraged, or track a Hunter ship back to it's base of operations.

Unlike M'n'Kuhl which are gregarious, promiscuous, and sometimes form loose multi-partner breeding circles, Abeoloi tend to avoid human contact, mate for life, and breed only with their partners. There are few recorded instances of Abeoloi engaging in non reproductive sex and intimacy is seldom observed between Adults who are not pair bonded.

Like M'n"kuhl Abeoloi are capable of high speeds in hyperspace often reaching Mach Speeds in Hyperspace, and high speeds in thicker atmospheres, ( observed rehang 300 MPh in Earth normal atmospheres)they are also strong swimmers and are commonly seen hunting in aquatic areas on Terrestrial type worlds.

recent legislation and additions to the Imperial trade, and environmental accords have restricted hunting by Imperial and Alliance worlds and Sale or purchase of Abeoloi sourced materials is highly discouraged, taxed and in places subject to severe penalties.
