Description
A little tribute to my grandma, a lady of courage and style with a heart of gold.
The name "Gerolda" is a feminine form of "Gerald", an old viking name meaning "Spear ruler" and it is one of my middle names.
Her favourite colour is blue, and the fabric is an astonishing silk with interwoven real silver threads, scraps from when she had a dress sewn up for her 50-60 years ago. I had the fabric scraps for a long time but never dared making anything out of them before. I thought it was time.
Then there is a small silver metal finding (didn't make it), sweetwater pearls and a piece of a cocktail!
I dyed the feathers myself, taking grey feathers and giving them a coat of soft pale blue. Love how it turned out!
Very happy with this, felt-lined and so very comfortable!
**update** Now for sale in my Etsy shop. My mother thought I should sell it. I never would have dared without her blessing.
