Oils on canvasPainted from a photo that my husband took while watching a summer storm suddenly arriving across the fields. The light in the photo is wonderful, but I've found it hard to duplicate with paint!
I would rather LOOK AT YOUR gallery than just thank you for faving my work. So please excuse my bad manners if you fave or comment on my work, because I may not be thanking you. Instead I will be looking at your work!

I do like the violent light on the trees, the deep darkness in the sky. Not a painting for a baby's room!

Thank you - that was the challenge on this one - capturing the light of the trees and the darkness of the sky. I don't often paint for baby's rooms!

You've capture the mood quite well with your colors. That dark blue in the sky is good, and so's the brightness of the big tree on the right. Summer storms can have that great clash of cheerful/foreboding light, and I see that here!

Thanks for your thoughtful comments. I'm really pleased that you can see the approach of the storm as clearly as I could. The photo I worked from showed the wonderful light very well, but sometimes it's hard to achieve the same thing in paint!
