Character Notes San Domingo seems to draw all sorts of magical creatures to its shores, and Lyla is here to find them. Many would say she herself is a magical creature, so she would correct herself in saying she is very curious to the nature of rare magical creatures. Fairy, Elf, Sidhe, Aos Sí, Fae, she and her sister have been called it all. They live in a world that crosses over between human and beyond. The twins are Changelings born over a century ago in Ireland, and have always lived with one foot in both worlds. They both grew up in the 1920s, and after years of trying to keep up with the times have decided to re-embrace the formative years of their lives in the form of finger waves and dropped waists. In all respects the twins look human, and that is because they cleverly hide their abnormally shaped ears and their gossamer thin, insect-like wings. They have limited magical abilities; they are of course able to fly for short distances, shrink themselves to a very small size, cast common spells, and manipulate time to an extent. One thing is for sure, humans are typically intolerable to Fae like them, but they've made exceptions since having lived amongst them their entire lives. They are very close with the local magical community in San Domingo, which includes several witches , a team of elemental benders , and an elusive mermaid . Since moving to the US, the girls own and operate the Autumn Vale Cattle Co. & Winery with the help of their favorite witch, Petra .

Lyla is part of the Fae who inspired the legend of the Glaistig , a spirit known to protect cattle herds. She has a deep connection with the cattle, and they follow her like puppy dogs. While she can't bring herself to slaughter the animals, she makes sure the herd receives the proper respect when they are culled. Unlike her sister, Lyla is the adventurous type. She likes to push boundaries and work hard. She's not much of the friend-making type, but has found companionship in Kawosa Silvermount and kind of Andreas Raxendorfer who help manage the ranching aspect of the Cattle Co. Robyn Parker has found himself to have an unwitting - and unwanted - attraction to her, and she is the only one he finds himself awkwardly trying to impress; which has drawn him to helping her work the racing horses as well. The majority of Lyla's time is spent training and racing AVRRA's Thoroughbreds, in particular Corona Del Mar . She is the champion filly's sole jockey, and both are equally consumed with riding to win. Off the track, she finds comfort riding the trails in the Mission Hills area beyond the ranch, searching for mythological creatures that only a fairy knows how to find.
