Description My proudest moment as a volunteer firefighter was a few years ago. I just go finished mowing my lawn when I get a call for a structure fire. I get to the station and all the vehicles were gone barred from 1 the heavy rescue truck. I get in with 3 other guys and we get out to the scene this place was a completely engulf after I arrived. I first set about helping the pump operator he was having difficulties with the pressure line. We were unable to get in contact with the fire company manning the hydrant. My job was to fix the water pressure as fast as possible. I took of my jacket and started surveying the line we laid nearly a mile worth of hose that day. I ran the entire length just to get the other pump operator to the right channel. On the way to the hydrant I noticed a leak in the line. That was what was causing the pressure drop. I borrowed a spanner wrench and repaired it myself. That day I started out with a light green t shirt after the run and the fire it was stained near dark blue. After I fixed the line I filled air tanks and hydrated those who came for breaks. We stayed on scene for nearly 7 hours as by the time we all left it was dark out. We cleaned up all the hose we laid. No shortcuts here every length had to go back on the truck. As I'm helping I feel something under the hose(Its the spanner wrench I barrowed from the other station earlier -_-). None of of us are perfect. We return the wrench the next day after we cleaned it.

This Drawing took a hour at the most to work on it was kind of rushed I felt bad for not posting in so long... I came down with covid last week and was unable to work on anything. The details are a little hazy as It was a while ago although I do remember that we fought a brush fire across the street within less then a week of this fire happening. The helicopter in the background was a news helicopter...I tried to see myself during this but I was obscured by trees during he footage. Why was this my proudest moment? we were able to save a whole building thanks to that pressure and we were able to maintain 3 deck guns on the fire. I definitely was not the only person who saved the day. My old fire instructor came in to assist, EMTS from all over the county were at the scene, Old fire fighters I have not seen or heard from in years reactivated just to help with this fire. The tool I forgot to return I later found out was not left by me but I did forget to bring it back earlier and handed it to a passing crew man of the fire engine. I don't know how it ended up under the hose but I still felt bad for not returning it.(EPILOGUE) A month or two ago in a college computer class were talking about backing up computers. My instructor brings up how she backed up a system a month prior to a huge fire and brings up this fire. I tell her I was on this one and tell her this story. I wish I could draw more but that was all that was along the roadway. No lines on it just a hose and twigs. Thank you for readying this story I hope you found it somewhat entertaining... Its still kind of underwhelming but after the last firefighting story I got to prove at least I'm not completely bad at fighting fires! Thanks again!
