In fact she lead a rebellion against Sinestro, when he conquered their home world.

wasn't very fond of her JLU design, just seemed too revealing for her character...

Well, on her planet, a gl symbol carries about the same meaning as a swastika, so she's got a lot to be upset about.

No kidding. That's because it's the home planet of Sinestro, who is the Green Lanterns' arch enemy, more or less the way the Joker and Lex Luthor are to Batman and Superman.

Fine work indeed. Great sutff on her face, pose, and colouring. She looks simply excellent. I especially like the work on her eyes and hair.

Thanks Cloney. The animated Katma is kind of a takeaway from her comic version, which I'd seen as being something like a 1950's sitcom mother with pink skin. Toon Katma seemed aggressive, but elegant, carrying a real air of authority. It isn't hard to imagine that she comes from the same planet as Sinestro, even though they went in two different directions.

I missed her death, as I was not reading Green Lantern comics at that time. I know of her through the Justice League animated series and a few selected tales I found from before her death. But what I know of her I find very interesting.

Yeah, if she was awesome in the comics, I bet she was really cool in the toon.
I don't read Green Lantern, but someone posted her death scene at scans_daily on livejournal.

She was hot on TV, it's true. She was John Stewart's mentor, and she formed a love triangle with him and Hawkgirl in the episode.
I got into Green Lantern during the Kyle Rayner era, and carried it right through the return of Hal Jordan. I just think it's such a fantastic concept, the Green Lantern Corps. There's really nothing else like it in all of comics, except maybe the Jedi Order in Star Wars. It's that level of greatness.

Strangely, she's got a "Sinestro" look to her; but I'll count that towards her species. Awesome stuff!

Thanks. I'll be trying to spend more time this week working on my stuff. It's been so long since I had a little free time.
