What-the-Gaff — Thundercats- See Jaga?

Description I always loved the Thundercats, but something occurred to me recently.

Lion-o's mentor and confidante was the ghost of the elder Jaga. He would always come to Lion-o in dire times to offer warnings or sage advice for the young king. But he never really seemed to interact much with any of the other Thundercats, so I got to thinking, what if Lion-o really is the only one who can see Jaga? Like the Russel Crowe in A Beautiful Mind, talking and interacting with people who aren't there. What did the other Thundercats think of that?

It's thundering outside as I write this. I hope the computer doesn't explode in my face.

I get the impression that normally only Lion-O can see Jaga, but there are circumstances that would permit the others to see him, such as when Lion-O specifically summons Jaga using the Sword of Omens. This picture pretty much sums up the rest of the time when they can't see him. Hilarious!

This made me giggle. I remember watching one episode where pathro is getting beaten up by some wilderbeast men and lion-o was standing like about 40 yards from the whole thing so he picks up his sword and sayd "Sword of omens give me sight beyond sight" and the sword shows him panthro being beaten up. He puts the sword down and can see the fight goig on right infront of him. LOL Lion-o is most certainly 'Special'

Better listen to him, Lion-O. Take it from someone who's been there, he knows what he's talking about!

I don't know what's funnier, Jaga's advice or Tygra going, "That poor, insane boy..."

I was watching some episodes of Thundercats yesterday and I think Lion-O IS the only one who can see Jaga - well mostly because I remeber one episode where Snarf saw him.

This is so funny, however i think Cheetara can feel Jaga when ever he close to her.

Actually when Grun the Destroyer showed up the first time (as a ghost) all the Thundercats watched Jaga kick his butt after Liono tossed him the Sword of Omens.

I think I remember a scene where Lion-o was a prisoner in a cell or something. Jaga came and conversed with him and a fellow prisoner asked who he was talking to. That points to the suggestion that under normal circumstances only Lion-o could see Jaga.

AHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

Both the picture and the comments are awesome..
Ahhhhhh....Memories of my misspent youth in front of the TV are coming back to me.. He-Man, Thunder-Cats, Silver Hawks and Bravestarr were my fav shows..

But that last comment had me almost rotfl especially light of the fact that Mandora and other females would have no idea about Lion-o's ...uh..."condition" and the image of them trying to put the moves on him..

Fine bit of work here. Well done on drawing all of the characters, they look to be straight from the show, I think. The colouring is excellent too. And as usual, a fine bit of humour, it works seriously well.

I've has never think about it. And now that you mention it, it do makes sense. But I bet their reaction would be different (after all they're battling spirit forces that manifest in material form). But who knows? Your work is really funny. Tupperware... that was funny! XD Curious you mention there's a storm while you're writing it. Kind of fitting, don't you think? BTW, get a UPS or some surge protection for the PC. The later shoudl prevent damage but I recomend the former in case the lights go of while you're on the computer so you can nhave time to properly shutting it off.

I think the others did see Jaga's ghost form at least once when the Thundercats were threatened by the evil spirit of an old foe of Jaga, some gigantic sabor-tooth tiger looking dude (his name escapes me, been ages since I saw that episode). Anywho, Lion-O and the others all saw Jaga's ghost as he battled the saber-tooth dude and cheered him on until he finally won the battle! But still...Your comic is SUPER FUNNY! LOL!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

What-the-Gaff In reply to KaijuDuke [2007-06-29 02:38:08 +0000 UTC]

The spirit's name was Grun the Destroyer, once a Thundercat himself and friend of Jaga before being consumed by greed, so the story goes. So the others did see Jaga, but that was the only instance I know of where that happened.

Thanks ^_^
