Description Second half of my Paleo term project: Dvinia prima, a primitive Cynodont.

It is one of the last Therapsids available in the fossil record to show full quadrate/articular contact as the hinge of the jaw before the post-dentary bones went on to form the mammalian ear. The specimen this cast was based on came from a place called Archangel’sk, Russia (which is just a cool name).

I timed myself on the dorsal & lateral views of the skull; it takes about four hours to complete each one. I really don’t recommend doing that much stippling at once since I still can’t feel my index finger. :/

They're all on normal 8.5" x 11" paper stolen out of the printer tray in the library.

GODDAMN! I mean that in the best possible way... What's the state of your pen, I wonder? That aside, these are entirely too beautiful. *jealous!*

Ha, I killed my fine pen on the mandible and went with a slightly larger tip for the two cranium views. I actually like those better and it took less time. Thanks!

GREAT GOOGLY MOOGLY! That is a redonculous amount of stipplage! Are you insane! Absolutely brilliant but at the same time I can't stare at it without thinking about all the hours and pain staking effort that went into this! You rock on a whole other dimension!

It wasn't that insane. I listened to the Hunger Games on audiobook while making them, so I was happily distracted. Glad you like it!
