I am honestly not a video gamer myself, but nevertheless, when I decided to see what all the fuss was about with Them's Fightin' Herds, the spiritual successor to the Mane6 team's "Fighting is Magic" game, I was immediately sold on the story premise and especially, the absolutely fantastic character designs (especially those of Arizona and Velvet, probably not coincidentally because they bear a certain resemblance to my favorite pair of ponies
). Lauren Faust has a wonderfully unique art style and such a great ability to create engrossing worlds and characters, that I am sincerely looking forward to what is to come with this project, and wish it greatest success. What a wonderful drawing. Β Love the colors and textures you've used. Β Great depiction of Arizona (aka Cow) and Velvet (Smugdeer). Β I hope you choose to draw them more in the future. Β
I think it's amazing that Lauren Faust, in redesigning the characters to be similar (and different) from Applejack and Rarity, did such a wonderful job. Β They've got their own personalities and yet manage to keep the charm of the original characters. Β Faust is such a talented character designer!

Hmmm, I don't get these "resemblances" people keep going on about when it comes to these two characters... d: That aside I love the way you drew them, almost giving them the same "pony" feel along with the rest of your pieces. (not saying they look similar to those ponies or anything...)
But really little subtleties, like how Arizona's arms are more angular compared to Velvet's really sets them apart, while the similar edge of the brush used to shade helps pull it all together. All in all amazing work as always! I'm excited to see where this project goes as well.

It always sucks whenever I missed out on these funding campaigns
I dont have the proper finances and an online account,missed out on backing on a game that I really enjoyed (Shovel Knight is awesome)
But I'm glad it's getting a revival and have really awesome character design and you handle them really lovely

I should have known you'd love these two, haha. Their designs really are excellent, though. I'm really looking forward to everything about this game. I can't wait for them to reach all their goals! I just wish I had more money to throw at them.

Rarijack pierce's past the veil of the existential reality so no matter what form they may take, they are undeniably and irrevocably the only true pair.

If you ever had even a passing interest in fighting games, this might be a fun diversion. Simple controls, great art and character designs, and even Definitely-Not-Apple-And-Diamond-Ponies Arizona and Velvet.

The hype it there and they are getting popular. I'm even sure to see plushies in the next few days. You know the fandom, it can happens. But I love the concept. Though, only six? Most of fighting games have at least twelve contestants which may bring the questioning if there would be the possibility of more characters. There is a Goat one in the Goals section, but it there any chance we could see more quadrupeds appearing with the money coming up? All designed by our beloved Lauren Faust?
Beside a cow, a reindeer, a alpaca, an unicorn (obvious), a sheep and now a (presumably vegan) dragon and the aforementioned goat, what else could come in? Would be dumb to not see a horse there or an antelope. A zebra? Maybe a buffalo? Any idea? Those caribou viking from Faust concept could be great there.

Gorgeous interpretation! The game looks fantastic and looking forward to playing it once complete, even though I don't play 1v1 fighting games. Lauren did a great job in creating the world and the characters. I personally like that llamas' design.

Wonderful expressions and color work. I like what I see of the game so far, so I'm really considering buying a copy when it comes out. I'd like to spare a few dollars for funding, but with so many hackers out there I don't think it'd be safe. But I digress. You do these awesome characters justice.

Personally I have never played either of them, and only hear of Fighting is Magic, yet I agree Faust has a simply wonderful simple and imaginative art style and your interpretations of her characters, as in this picture here, are simply elegant.Β
